new paint

Since the clear coat on my 05 is pealing and it needs body work. I've decided to paint the balt hot rod (matte) black but I wanna make it different by adding green racing stripes. Any ideas on what color green would look amazing on this car??

Would you happen to know the best places to find interior light bulbs like the map lights nd such? Also need to find a gauge cluster with green lighting.

just a recommendation.... if you dd the car i would NOT do matte black unless your using a matte clear over it. most people just use that dupont hot rod black which does not use a clear. its a real pia to take care of. so definately make sure theres a matte clear added over the color so it will make your life easy

no youve made a very good solid point, i thought about it too but figured that putting clear coat on a flat black job would make it glossy

putting standard clear will make it glossy... they make matte clears or they make flattening agents that go into the clear. the trick with a flattening agent is you need so make sure you equate what you use and write it down or remember it because if you have to repair it ever it willbe a nightmare to match if you forget.

yeah i would definately use regular clear imho. flat finish is cool but it requires more care and without a matte clear over the top its exposed to elements. plus its harder to spray out, its harder to match and get dead on if u need to in the future. but hey its your car and in the end you got to do what you like

you can do plenty different. change the color do body mods and what not.....if you want something easy to care for, easy to correct if something goes wrong go with gloss clear and use a high solids clear.
