Painting headlights

I just started heating my headlights up to remove the lens but I'm using a hair dryer, trying to pry it off but it's not coming off, news some tips

Put it in the oven on like 200 for 20 mins.

The thing I read a long time ago said to do it for a half hour. I thought that was too long so I did it for 20 mins with the door shut on 200*. Worked great. The lenses came right off then I scraped out the **** with a screw driver.

Try a heat gun. Works wonders

I tried using a hair dryer for some vinyl and no not the amsame as a heat gun.. I lost my heat gun lol

Why do that? keep it in there and use it to reseal the lens.

OP we found that the oven gave more even heat than the gun. Heat gun is slower because as your heating one area the other side is cooling down.

I guess you could heat up the sealant again and put it back together but I just put new in. Didn't want it leaking.

Ya, if you have new that's the way to go. Joe reused the factory stuff on mine and so far no leaks. It kinda rains here a bit. I'd know by now if it leaked.

I did 215 for 5mins and came right apart then resealed with sealant from Theretrofitsoruce.com best **** on the market
