Question FOG LIGHTS Turning Black??

I got out and left my car running today with the fog lights on and noticed that they are turning black??!! I was in a hurry, figured something was on them and tried to just wipe it off with my finger and it made it worse. Anywhere that I wiped with my finger, the lights turned black. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow b/c I have a faulty fuel cap, so I will inquire about the lights when I go.

They are projector lenses. No reason for them to turn black, unless something black got on them. I would try to wipe them with a paper towel with some windex on it when you get a chance.

yea sounds like maybe an oil issue? not many other substances act like that one does, and on a lense it'd prolly smear and appear to be darker.

UMM, ok guys, you have to remember that my finger duplicated this effect. I was thinking oil that was on my fingertip, natural body oil that is. I sure hope this is the case. I'll find out soon enough.
