Found a great website for quality leather shift and ebrake boots

Hey guys,

I placed an order on redline goods.com last week and received my new perforated leather boots this week. I have to say that I am quite impressed with the quality of leather that was used as well as the craftsmanship. I went with the black perforated leather with silver stitching to match the color scheme in my interior, but it was a hard decision as they have a couple different types of leather and a ton of thread colors. You'll see what I mean. lol.

I don't usually do product reviews, but I am very pleased with the customer service there and even our buddy blilBT thought these were great quality boots. I changed my ebrake to accommodate a MOMO handbrake handle and the boot from redline goods. It turned out very well. I have how-to's for both the ebrake mods and changing the shifter boot if anyone wants me to post them up in the how-to section.

I worked with redline goods to get the R&D down and make sure the boots fit our cars perfectly and they most definitely do. I know some guys don't want to spend $110 on a handbrake handle, so I convinced redline goods to make a boot that will just slide over the smaller ebrake handle when you remove the big bulky handle on top. In other words, two ebrake boots are available, even though pictures and installation instructions of the boot without the MOMO handle are only online right now. I'm sure they'll have it up soon, but I would make a note when ordering if you guys order immediately.

Have a look through the pictures below and let me know what you guys think.

Here is the link to their website if your interested: http://www.redlinegoods.com/cgi-bin/...r&id=1&aid=555

The Boots look great! I have thought about doing them as well. The e-brake looks horrible without some kind of cover on it. That e-brake handle that you have looks amazing. Where did you get it and was it hard to install? Thanks.

lol. The ebrake does look horrible when you know what it could look like with a fancy handle. I first did the install without the handle and was fairly happy with it, in comparison to how it looked with the big clunker on it.

This handle is the MOMO black leather - airmetal insert. It is a match to the shift knob, as you probably already noticed. The handle is part of the momo pit stop series which is what the previous guys that did the ebrake mod on this forum used. Very little modification is needed to get your car looking this way.

Here is a clearer shot of the momo handle.

Pretty sexy, huh?

I'll be ordering one very soon as my shift boot seems to be on its last leg.

The reason your shift knob has that big space is because there isn't a reverse lock on it correct?

you are on their site, did you take the stock cover off the ebrake? or did you just cut part of it off and put the boot onto the stock one?

lol, out of the 3+ years I've owned the car, the seats have stayed clean until about 2 weeks ago. Some water spilled off the work water jug and freaking stained. No worries though, I'm in the cleaning and restoration business. I'm just lazy...lol

My knob was peeling up top near the knob as well. Pretty bad too.

Almost right. I kept the reverse lockout mechanism, but removed the finger grip area that you lift up on to go into reverse. I relocated the mechanism underneath the boot. It kind of doubles as a theft deterrent if you think about it. Who the hell would figure that out when trying to steal the car. One of BlilBTs very nifty ideas.

I simply cut off the back half of the stock cover to use it primarily as a substitute for affixing the boot to the inside of the ebrake bezel. I would have had to play around with adhesives to see which would hold the leather to the back of the plastic panel otherwise. The back half of the cover also has those plastic tabs that flair out on the sides to keep it from coming up through the bezel. It holds the leather pretty snug so you always have a no show look in terms of gaps between the boot and the bezel.

That looks ****! The best part is...the How-to specifically for our car is right on their website. Sounds like I found a neat little weekend project! Thanks for the info! roughly how much was the Momo e-brake handle? Having bought Momo stuff before for a previous car...it was probably expensive as hell.

EDIT: Found the e-brake handle...87 bucks straight from Momo...it may be cheaper elsewhere but hey I thought it was going to be more honestly.

I payed $105-110. Don't remember exactly. If you found it for $87, jump on it! That's a steal.

Everything that I modified is explained in the how-to or by looking at the previous pictures.

What shift knob handle is that? I went with the Pit Stop Carbon Ebrake and want to change up my shift knob.

So you have no issues with the shift knob since we dont have a threaded one stock? Also, so I wouldnt have that little gap on the shift knob if I keep the reverse lockout portion there?

Thanks in advance!
