G5 Art Hood

Fully aware everybody is gonna hate it, but I'm a glutton for punishment.

One of my good friends did the work. It turned out great. The reason is looks rough is because it's not waxed yet. A couple (like 6 actually) coats of wax will smooth it out. He's gonna do my trunk and possibly the roof also.

Be gentle.

I like it, it's different. If you like it thats all that matters. What did he use to do it? It almost looks like marker, but I imagine just some regular paint?

It's a sharpie paint pen. We did everything by the book as per the guy with the BMW. Turned out almost identical in finish.

Thanks.

No hate here. The only problem I see is that the art ends so abruptly at the front of the hood. Can you fade it out into the bumper or continue into the bumper?

Love the spoiler.

I like it. I think their needs to be something else though. That is drawing to much attention to one area. Maybe something like that on the roof and or trunk maybe

We thought about continuing it onto the front grill, but I'm shopping for a new front bumper, so we're gonna see where that goes first.

Hey guys, I'm the guy that did the artwork. I'm gonna do the trunk and possibly the interior trim soon. Thanks for the kind words!

ya definitely extend to the roof and the trunk....and even the bumpers it will pull it all together...maybe use thin black pinstriping on the boarders (some lines look wavy)....It would look ten times better masked and airbrushed and clear coated.

It is unique, where did you come up with the idea for the art?

****, that looks awesome. I've been wanting to do this to my car for a while now, as soon as I come across another stock hood I'm going for it.

Thanks for the advice. It's definitely not the end of the painting.

Thank you.

We got the idea from the BMW M3 and the Lamborghini that are painted like this, but the design was completely out of the artist's head.

Go for it. I am very pleased! The public reaction is 100x better than any reaction on here. You'll find out what I mean.

It is my car and I love it.

I can't believe the positive response here. The two other forums I posted on (G5club and E46fanatics) had mixed reactions with the most being negative.

Wow I really like it, very different, as a matter of fact the whole car loks very nice, it's a very clean car, which is also cool cuz you added some art on the hood and still maintained the "clean" look.

Thanks. I have a love/hate relationship with the wing. It needs a body kit to set it off.

Took him a couple days to do the design, and then another to fill in some light spots. Thanks.

Haha, thanks. It's gonna get much cleaner and hopefully much faster in the near future.
