G5 Grill Insert on a Cobalt

I'm too lazy at this point to search....doesn't help the messicans i know

Has anyone tried to put a g5 grill insert (the black part and painted part) on a cobalt bumper? Here's the problem that I see:

The center painted bar seems to be attached to the bumper itself. Does anyone know if this is true???

The painted part is part of the bumper. This should be evidence of so.

Wow, now that I read it properly, I understand. Pontiac G5 bumpers, both base and gt, use a cobalt bumper. They from the factory actually cut out the bar, as the painted part of the grill on the G5 actually clips into the black G5 grille. Will post a picture.

dammit...oh well. I had an idea to put a g5 grill insert on my cobalt, but I guess it will take more than what I think. Oh well...off to the pick n' pull! lol

All it'll take is 2 parts, and cutting out the bar on the cobalt cover, the 2 part grille for the G5 does cover the cut out bar.

I have a G5, and I have recently noticed that they used the cobalt cover, all they do is paint the bumper. THEN cut out the bar and assemble it for a G5.

What do you mean by insert? and the factory left 1/4 inch of material left from the bar on my bumper.

It's the same as cobalts with the chrome grill insert. Just cut the bar

like stated above, the G5 bumper is just a cobalt bumper with the center bar cut and a different grill insert
