Gaugeing interest.... Pillar Pods!!

Hey guys, i know a lot of people are interested in these, and I am very good with these kinds of materials. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in having me make one for you. I can do single, dual, and triple pods for those interested. Not looking to make a ton of money on these, and the work and time will show in the finished product. I can leave them primed and ready for paint, which would be the cheaper option, or go ahead and have them color matched, and tectured to the stock appearence. I am painting mine to match my exterior, and could do this for others, however they will cost a little more. Cost wise, i can get the pods for around $10-$15 depending on how many openings you need, and I can get the replacement pillar for $20. I opted to mount mine higher as you can see in the pics, but that is only because I am adding a speaker in the large spot at the bottom. I can also mold tweeters into these, and an additional cost, all you have to do is send me the tweeters so i can get them fit correctly. You can also send me your stock pillar, for those that dont have the boost gauge already, or an additional one that you have gotten to save money. Shipping should be around $10, and i am only looking to make around $60 profit on each. All in all, for $100 you will not be dissapointed with what you recieve. Expect about a week turnaround time, which is not bad at all. I have worked with cars since i was about 12 years old, and have a lot of experience with fiberglass and bondo, and all the other materials involved. I have about 3 days worth the labor involved in mine, and as you can see, it looks very profesionally done, with no seams at all. Still have some sanding left to do, but I should be done within the next week or so as I am still waiting for my speakers to arrive.

there are also some pics in my interior progress report thread. any questions drop me a PM, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Brian, I read your how to a couple of times (great post) and thought about trying it out. Your post makes it look easy, but I have no experience with bondo, or anything like this, so I am skeptical, both Brian and italstalnprd86's pods look awesome though. I might still try it some day.

Hell yeah im interested. I'd buy a triple pod right now. I wanna see how the finished product will look in a ss/sc first. I want one so that i can run a boost gage, aeroforce gage, and a wideband gage.

Keep us updated.

-Craig

Well hell, looks like you guys want these. Wikky, no it doesnt have to be an ss/sc, the pillar i got was from a stock coupe. Silver SS, you serious? I can get the stuff ordered and have it done prolly by next weekend if your serious. Id do a few at a time, accept right now i have a few bills to pay so i cannot buy the stuff to do them. brian, sorry man, i didnt even use your how to. lol, yours looks good though. Craig, as yours and mine are the same color, i think you will be very impressed. I have a set of kicker 3.5 inch speakers i am going to be putting in them, they will be here friday so it will be a busy weekend! I had a lot of luck with my cavalier pillars, i had a set of alpine tweeters in them, and they looked amazing, For everyone who is interested, seriously pm me with what you want done, and i can give you a better estimate on price, all in all, they wont be more than $100 if that even. like i said before, I am not trying to rip anyone off, Im a college student with some time on my hands, and i need some money. My AIM is Italstalnprd86, and i will be on later so get at me!

IonNinja, I could do one for the Ion aswell. All i would need was an Ion pillar. i can do one for any car, however i have easy access to everything from Chevy and Buick as we have a dealership. Any cars on here that want one are welcome to inquire!

alright kids, lol, silverss requested the first one, and i will have pics up within the next week hopefully. for clarification, it looks like these will be fine with the airbags in the sides, as they are not attached to the pillar itself, but rather the car. Silverss requested a dual, with the tan paint to match the factory color, and his will also be clear coated. i will keep everyone posted, and will also post some pics of what i did to my old cavalier to show off my quality of finished work! right now i have 2 more lined up, and one pending, im glad to see you guys are letting me work for you, and you will be very impressed with the finished product.

Have you actually tried to remove the pillar with the airbag there. I looked to get it off myself and the metal nozzle looked to be through the pillar. I didn't pull hard cause the last thing i needed was to break something. If anyone with the side airbags has removed theirs please let me know.

I am currently working on a steering wheel mount for a single gauge and will post pics when done.
