...apparently not since it doesn't have a coolant temp gauge or an oil pressure gauge...two gauges that I think are very important. What the...?!?!?!
If I dip into the Cobalt "well", I'll have to get some aftermarket gauges and pods because I just don't think I can function without those meters. Where can I find them?
I'm I just too **** about it???

coolant temp can be found by toggling through the DIC displays with the "i" button on the dash to the right of and behind the steering wheel; oil pressure is not displayed anywhere to my knowledge

350Z's have a stock multi-function gauge, oil pressure gauge, and voltmeter on top of the center of the dash...so there's at least 2 cars out there with it...

My stock Chevy truck ('97) has the full 6 gauge compliment. I thought it was standard operating procedure to have those 6 gauges (MPH, Tach, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Water Temp., Volts). I was wrong...
The aftermarket will step up and we will be able to put whatever we want in our cars. I want a boost gauge on my n/a SS...

Serious, DIC has coolant temp. I don't think the 'balt has an oil pressure gauge. When I hook up my scan tool I don't get any reads on the oil pressure PID or was that oil temp....

My S10 Xtremes came with them. It's neat with watch the pressure rise when you step on the gas.

DIC? Okay and what happens if it blows a fuse or malfunction? These are idiot lights pure and simple. I'd rather have a mechanical gauge. More more reliable, IMO. Mt 74 Formula is 31 years old, has a temp gauge and oil pressure guages and both work.

Mechanical is more reliable than electronic?
Lets review.
EFI > Carburators
Electric Powersteering > Hydralic Powersteering
Drive by wire > Drive by cable
Computer > Abacus

Lets not forget the fact that the guages are not Mechanical to begin with. They are all electronic. If you unplug a guage cluster in, lets say a 95 Taurus, its all wires. No coils/cables comming from the speed sensors. You unplug the dash fuse, and nothing turns, nothing moves.

We have all the guages we need. There is no need for an oil pressure guage. All an oil pressure guage is going to do is tell you when you lose oil pressure. Well guess what, by the time your guage tells you that you have lost pressure it's already too late so what is the point, hahaha. My old car had an oil pressure guage and by the time it dropped, the crank was already having a feast on my bearings.
