That was the only thing I disliked about the 4th gens. If you bought the blacked out housing, you still have that huge piece of chrome.

Should look really good, update with pics.

It's really not that hard to do, the basics is just bake the headlights apart, remove the shroud piece, cut out the reflector from the high beam, mount projector in its place, reassemble, mod the back of the housing to accommodate the new projector, done. I'm just friggin slow at it lol.

I was about to do that, just went the retro route instead. They were just too expensive when they first came out.

Where did you get the Gen 4 Housings and the projectors? I think I may end up going this route but I'm so damn torn. I need illumination but its not so serious that I narrowly avoid hitting things. If I have to, Ill save the money and do the same thing you are doing except different color scheme after you put the HOW TO up.

Would it be recommended to replace the projectors these come with with Morimoto Minis? And if so do I need to fabricate a mount for them to fit into the housings?

the painting of the chrome part is sick, i wouldn't mind painting mine body color with the black housing. I didnt like the previous gens of headlights because I don't like the leds or halos

This is actually what I'm doing. I removed the "stock" projector from the low beam spot, removed the cutoff shield, then placed that projector in the high beam spot after I cut out the reflector. My morimoto minis will go in the low beam spot.

Definitely in for finished result. Ive thought about opening mine and painting the chrome either victory red or black. Also throught about putting the oem lense on my gen 4s as my gen 4s have stress cracks. But also wouldnt mind a better projector. The gen 4s arent bad but theres always room for improvement!

I'm also wondering how they are doing that. As well as the mods required for teh back of the housing to accomodate the new projector?

my hids were back ordered so I ran the stock halogens for a week or 2. This was before there was a known problem.
