Question Gen 4 Depo HID relay kit High beam mod

Alright after doing some research, I want to do the Ultimate High Beam Mod on my Gen 4's. There's just a few questions:

1. What type of relay kit will I need for my HID ballast? I bought these headlights off ebay from a good seller with HID ballast and bulbs pre installed.

2. Does it matter the AMP's for the relay? Like for example: 40 AMP's with a 20 AMP fuse.

3. With the Ultimate High beam mod can I also install HID's for the high beams as well? I know that you must have HID's for the low beams but in the thread that talks about the mod they never really mention about the high beam's with HID's.

4. For the relays that are used for the mod can I use a relay kit used for HID's or do I have to buy a seperate one from Radio Shack and wire it up manually?

I'm sure these questions may have been answered in the past but it would be a great help for those who have knowledge to give some advice. This will be my first major wiring job I've ever done.

Its not really a major wiring job. You're just wiring up a relay. It's really not that hard.

Me personally I would just go down to RadioShack and buy two 40amp automotive fuses. They're like $5 a piece. It's cheaper that way.

As for adding hids in the high beam location I wouldn't do it. I mean why in gods name would you want two ballasts on each side? The only time I can see hids for the brights and lows is in a bi-xenon lamp which gen 4s are not. Just stick with halogen highs.

Hey dude, I the ultimate mode to the max with my Gen 4's I have Hid Lows & Highs, Fogs as well....

I wired a relay to my fogs, and hooked that up to the parking lights, which are my day light runnig lights, so they turn on when my parking lights are on meaning almost all the times. I left the the low beam the same. As for the high beams, I wired a relay and hooked that up to my fog light switch, you might wonder what does that mean?

It means I can have my foglights, low, highs all on at the same time without having to hold any buttons or levers down and it works amazingly with no issues

Oh btw i forgot to mention I have an extra HID H7 relay harness with a fuse lemme know if you want it

Thank man for the advice, do you have any pics of your ride with everything on?

Also how did you relay your fogs? I mean I was just thinking about rewiring the fogs to the parking lights but I'm not sure if it requires a relay for that too lol.

Yeah man how much you want for that relay harness?

Alright here's what I have so far together

Positive with 15 Fuse

Negative

Low Beam

Complete set up

My questions are:

Where do you put the wires for the high beam?

The packaging that came with this relay

is different from the diagrams shown here:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...52/index2.html
Second page

I want to use one relay for both lights, Also did I do everything right? Just want to make sure this is correct don't want to blow something.

PM you on Relay Harness

So anyone can help me if I got the wiring down right? Also I have an idea now but my only concern now is can I run both headlights under ONE relay? Does it really matter what kind of relay you need? I mean I have a 30 AMP that 40 AMP's and up to 300 watts.

Here's an update after figuring out the lay out from the how to:

layout:

Finally from the package of the relay:

Still the same questions:

1. Does it matter what fuse I use as an inline?

2. Can I use just one relay for both headlights?

If your wondering I'm still waiting on the relay kit to come in for my HID's so I haven't mounted this sucker on yet, but I want to get some word from all of you seeing this if I did this right, or do I need to change something.

Alright well here is what I have:

I've been working with SunburstSS and manage to get the Highbeams to turn on with the Fog light switch. The only problem is when I use the second relay harness for the fog lights and plug them into the parking lights they don't turn on.
