Gen 4 + HID's?

Do you have to modify the Gen 4 to put HID's in the housing? Or is it like Gen 1?
Debating on getting Gen 4 but need me some HID's lol

Where's the dust cap? Is it the rubber fitting that goes over the back of the bulb?

Supposedly you won't get stress cracks with the newer gen 4's

Curious myself. If you send your stock headlights to buy hids, you can get retros for pretty much the same price as Gen 4 + 2 hid hits (high and low).

Thats my personal debate.

There's an option from buyhids.com where you send them your stock headlights and they use those to make the retros. Saves the cost of the stock headlights.

Hmmmm? If this is true I rather have retros but just really depends on the cost. Retro's are always going to be better IMO but I just never got them because of the price. FML

I'm in the same boat as you really. Retros are expensive. But if you take into account the costs, its gonna be about 300 dollars + shipping for Gen 4s with HIDs (and 400 if you put HIDs in your highbeam). If you get retros made from your stock headlights its only gonna be about 400 dollars. Kinda sounds worth it in my opinion. (And for that you get highbeams).

I think people often don't consider that the price of HIDs comes with the retrofit price where the Gen 4 you need to put 100 extra on top of that for low beam HIDs.

I like my gen 4s a lot so I took them to the next step and retrofitted them instead of the stockers. Quad projectors looks awesome.

I had Gen4's with hids originally. They are by far the best lights for a kit. Then I retro'd them with RX330 projectors. Then I retro'd my stock lights with TL projectors. Now I could never go back. TLs are the ****. I've got 50w ballasts coming in the next couple days. Add in a pair of the best bulbs available (Osram 66240CBI) and nobody can touch the output.
