Only on the older ones and only if you run the stock non hid bulbs

Thats my personal debate.
I have yet to see retros come as cheap as GEn4's with 1 or 2 hid kits. Though HID high beams are not recommended due to warmup time.

If you get retros made from your stock headlights its only gonna be about 400 dollars. Kinda sounds worth it in my opinion. (And for that you get highbeams).

I think people often don't consider that the price of HIDs comes with the retrofit price where the Gen 4 you need to put 100 extra on top of that for low beam HIDs.
300 bux? Mine were 220 shipped! and 2 hid kits (low beam and fog lights) ran me 65 shipped from ddm. So 285 shipped.

Now I have gen 4's and like them. I will probably still go retro because I have one of the very first gen 4 sets. But I still recommend them and sometimes the retros have issues with fogging over or other problems depending on who makes them.

You're telling me you got Gen 4's, and two HID kits for 285? If so, I want to know where haha. And I mean the retros only come close to the price of the Gen 4 + HID if you send them your stock headlights to make the retros with.

Yes.

189 + shipping = 220
2 hids kits @ 25 + shipping = 65 (ddm 35w 6k raptor kits)

And got them off ebay though this was over a year ago. But definitely not 400 bux for gen 4s and a single hid kit.

ya i never put hid's for high beams. especially for the depo headlamps or any other where the low beam shuts off when the high beam turns on. id crash. ha if u turn onn ur highs for like 2 minutes then a car comes and u have to turn on low's again ur gonna drive in the dark for about 10 seconds ha

Well I ment with 1 hid kit. Do the kits you got work well? Cause those are dirt cheap. Checked out HID palace, and much to my disapointment, they were 89 bucks each :/ .

u dont wanna go the cheap route. trust me. cheap hid kits tend to either have ballasts go and its a bitch to uninstall or buy new ones and re do it all. just a hasstle. buy hid's from a reputable place and get good headlamps if u rnt using stock lamps

A lot of people have run ddm and liked them. Mine have been decent for the price. Next time I will go higher end but honestly im just that picky. They are still massively brighter than stock and ddm has stood behind them. So cant really complain.

search ddm on here im sure something will come up.

Hi all, first off, amazing lights RK, very nice! I so badly want to put HID's on my 08 which is currently stock. Maybe some of you on here can answer this for me. If i buy the 4th gen's off ebay, will I run HId in the lower "projector" lens and then what will I put in the other lens? being that the stock lens has the low/high beams in one lens, how do you run two bulbs? Can anyone suggest a good seller to buy the lenses and the hid's from? A link would be ideal. I dont want to do the retro thing but do want a quality HID that has the cutoff or or something that is equilvalent. Please advise and thank s again for letting me hack your thread with a question

The gen 4 lights convert the single bulb system to a two bulb system. The headlights will come with all bulbs needed for lows/highs/turn signals etc. All you would have to do is buy an H7 HID kit if you want to then convert the low beams to HID.

You can run HIDs where ever you want, low beams are in the center and high beams the ones closer to the edge. I personally have HID high beams because I live out in the open area where no cars but lots of deer tend to travel. I also have HID lows I just haven't installed them yet.
BuyHIDs has excellent customer service and are really easy to talk to. PM Mkulrey and I'm sure he'll help you out.

Got that backwards there, the low beams are always the outer most lights, center ones are highs.

So do I dude, so I know what I'm talking about. The low beam is the projector, which is towards the outer edge. The lights next to the grille are the high beams, which are reflectors. All four of mine are projectors since I retrofitted them, but this is how they are designed.
