they do look rather large lol...not sure what I'm gonna do when I do my retro. CCFL looks better than LED imo. People just charge way too much for colored CCFL halos.

the only ones on that site that are available in orange are 80MM. I dont even know what size i need or if thats the right size. But i believe there are 2 different size halo's in the assembly.
Heres something cool id figured I should post, I went out and spent $150 on 3M 3stage buffing compounds and pads yesterday for my $60 harbor freight buffer. Iv buffed before using wool pads but never foam since i hear they generate alot more heat and cut faster so you have to be real careful, well i got all foam pads yesterday and practiced on a Spraypainted black low-pro spoiler I have, i spray painted it awhile ago, and tried the turtle wax rubbing and polishing compound to get it to look right, then waxed it and could never get it to look shiney, thus the pics. Well heres the before and after pics: By the way this was a REAL quick buff too.

That **** looks 10x better, and thats just like 2 minutes of buffing, no wax or anything, just some 3m rubbing compound on a white foam pad and machine polish on a black pad

Ill make a quick how-to right now:
Step 1: Print out a picture of my car
Step 2: take this picture, get into your cobalt and drive to your nearest vinyl shop
Step 3: Show him the picture and say "Hi, can you please do this to my cobalt headlights?"
*Wait about 20 minutes or so*
Step 4: Hand him the money he asks for, prices range. I got the vinyl down my hood and the eyelid with the yellow pinstripe for $15 a side.
Step 5: Enjoy your new eyelid
Or you can paint it on or whatever, but you better make sure you take your time and get them even on both sides. I had the vinyl guy lay it on, then later when i painted it i just outlined the vinyl in pinstripe tape so i knew exactly where they were and i knew they were even already
soooo come back and lets do a photoshuit ya queer
Its beautiful here, but I know Cali is too
holy **** i love this buffing **** I got. I wetsanded some trash out of my hood with 2,000 grit on a sanding block and then buffed it back to a gloss, but my fathers corvette is pretty fucked up. pics:

this is 1 pass of machine polish:

**** looks 1,000x better! I like that, makes ya feel good. I got tired and gave up for tonight after half of the vette hood and my hood. ill give it more tommorow since theres a little cruise-in tommorow night.

i know what your talking about, the rubbing compound leaves holograms, thats how my car looked this morning since i never went over it with polish. But the 3M Machine polish removes them and then I have an ultrafine machine polish to remove anythign left over. The vette was actually hit with the machine polish and the ultrafine machine polish so i guess thats 2 passes. Theres really no deep scratches that need rubbing compound, on my car however I need it to remove any dry spots and 2,000 grit scratches from removing trash. But its pretty simple and satisfying. Expensive for those pastes though!

But for removing normal swirls/scratches etc, a PC7424 is A LOT safer.
But hey, if you've found something that you're comfortable with, and it works, keep doing it.
Everyone has their own little techniques when it come to polishing, and I have only used a PC and the Meg's Compunds.

in all honesty if you try using a meguiars g110 or porter cable 7424xp to do correction its a waste. you will be sitting there forever even if you finish it 3000 lol. stick with a rotary for getting the major defects out and wetsanding scratches and then switch to the dual action for all the polishing. i have a few different systems i use depending on the type of job or the type of car
