Gonna buy some Luminics bulbs.

Well, decided since I gotta take my front bumper off to have it repainted from someone hit/running my car, I'm gonna go ahead and get some aftermarket headlight/foglight bulbs. I've decided to go with Luminics kyrpton ultra white headlight bulbs and Luminics krypton JDM yellow foglight bulbs. Yes, I know there's nothing JDM about a Cobalt, but I've always loved the yellow foglights. The IS300 has them and they look like pure sex. When I get them in (hopefully within the next week or two when I get my bumper taken care of) ill get some night shots.

Have fun buying new ones every few months. I have gone thru 2 sets of fogs and 2 sets of headlight bulbs in just over a year. Seems like them always burnout just after the 90 days.... hmmmm...

later

They are garbage man, spend some $$$ on something with a little more quality. I have Philips Crystal Vision bulbs on the car now. They are extremely bright and they last! I've had mine in the car since January. When I had my Cavalier, I had a set for a year and a half. My friend has my old Cav and the lights are just as bright as day one.

Thought I oughta add the fact that i'm getting the krypton series for both sets of bulbs....not the standard series. Only a bit more expensive. I'm also buying the Luminics plug and play harness both both the headlights and foglights too that are designed to work with high wattage aftermarket bulbs. People not upgrading the harness is 99% of the reason they burnout/blowout so quickly.

why not just get a set of the yellow hids to put in your fogs? i think its 3000k or somethin like that that puts off the yellow light. you can get them off ebay for around 80 shipped. and before you hate on the ebay hids i have a set in my projectors (6000k) and they work fine. had them in for bout 4 months now and not a problem the whole time.

Nah, krypton bulbs are plenty bright. Not trying to mount ballasts and all that mess anywhere either. Just gonna upgrade the harnesses/bulbs and call it a day.

Never had any with problems with PIAA's burning in the 10 years I have been using them in my cars. Yeah they might cost more but they work.
I think the yellow would look allright.

Word. I don't think i'll have any trouble with the Luminics if I buy the proper harness of their website to run them. I think most people overlook the harness and just buy the bulbs. I know my friend Kris had several sets of aftermarket bulbs on his '05 Focus......a set of APC bulbs.....then a set of Lite Glow bulbs.........both sets burnt out, so he went ahead and upgraded the harness and bought another set of APC bulbs.........and low and behold he's been running that set for like a year now with no problems.

By the way Stouffer, did you ever get your new header/downpipe and is the car back up and running?

Harness has nothing to do with the lower end bulbs blowing. If someone does not upgrade the harness when they buy the higher end bulbs that have a higher wattage DRAW on the harness they will end up melting the wiring harness. The upgraded harness just puts a bigger gauge of wire to handle the higher draw.

The lower end Luminics bulbs are just plain s**t. I had them and I was lucky to get two months out of them. Waste of money and time.

I do not know about the higher end ones, so hopefully they work out for you.

No not yet. Hopefully this week. We went on vacation for 10 days. I am waiting for her brother to have time. He is a mechanic at a Ford dealership. So free of charge to me. Not in too much of hurry as it is free. Besdies keeps the miles off it and not paying for gas. I am getting anxious to drive my dam car though.

I bought the luminics ultra whites, they burned out in 2 months. The funny thing was I lose High beams first them they burned out. Probably because of the DRL.
