Ahh, ok. Just thought I remember seeing that somewhere. Still, they are looking sick. I don't know if I like the big chrome bezel around the projector, but I think it will look better to me when its finished. Awesome job bro!!

I wish I knew how to fiberglass, than I would make my own headlights like youre doing rather than buying those Ebay lights, they are nice and all but I like the idea of a less, mass produced look lol.

Working with Fiberglass Resin and Cloth/Matte is easier than you think. I did a custom fairing/headlight setup for my CBR using this stuff.

Sorry, Silver... didn't mean to thread jack. The lights look great and I can't wait to see the final pics, and I still hate you for beating me to it

Hint hint on wheels too on the Euro Ebay ...Opel uses 5x110 . Theres some cool different wheels to choose from over the US offerings .

Jimmy and DC - As soon as I get the wiring figured out . Im trying to get "competent" wiring diagram for these lights . I did contact Hella , there who manufactued it . All the wiring is internal to the headlight . Theres an assload of wires for the swilvel projector base that looks like its mixed in . The ballasts and AFL controllers acutally plug into the headlamp base and theres only 1 external connector to power the lamp .

Shermen- I would love to , I really like doing stuff like this ....but time is my enemy . Its probably gonna take me a month working on and off to get my set done

Thanks for the comments . Im about to pull the lens off one of the Astra lights and see just whats in store

This is a good idea! Since I'm already here in the UK....I think I'm going to go to the local Astra dealership and check the price...I don't want to pay $225 for these

No prob , nice work dude . Tru dat on the fiberglass , this is my 1st attempt . Once you get the process down , its not very hard at all . Recreating all the details on this light , like the fine sharp edges and hash groves is KILLING me time wise , lol .

TxLonghorn#1- Keep your eyes open man . I got mine cheap on ebay.co.uk from a guy who tried to make them work in a Astra that had the regular headlights .....its not possible to do so . I would have to say though , being over their I dont think I could resist picking up a Arden Blue VXr and throwing on some 18x8 TDR pro race 1.2 wheels , even as much I love my SS .....that would be beyond hot .

Thanks for compliments again , their coming along SLOWLY I should have some more update pics tonite , the outer bezel on 1 lamp is nearly done .

It would cost a absolute fortune . Injection molding and tool and die work is my profession . I could easily see $100K plus in molds to recreate this . Each chrome bezel is a separate piece , and the bezel itself has some really intricate shapes to it . It would be WAY to costly of a mold to try to cast the bezel as one piece , so your left with needing about 8 different molds to make the bezel , shrouds and reflectors . Thats not including the headlamp base . BIG BUCKS man .

^^^Well 100,000 isnt to bad if you charge around $400 or a set of lights. I mean you'd only need to sell 250 sets to make the money back and If the lights turned out sweet Im sure you'd sell over a 500 sets.
