Handle peeling

So my driver side handle is peeling really bad. So I went to the dealership and bought one (Only $18). I just want to know is there a way to change this out without removing the whole door panel.

I just noticed mine doing the same thing a couple days ago. It's not peeling yet, but I can tell there's a bubble under the finish.

I'm looking into painting mine / replacing them too. The chrome peelings are sharp as razors.

Is it the handle you use to open the door or the one you hold on to to close it?

Its the chrome door handle that you use to open the door. The new one is a little rectangular insert. I cant seem to take my old one out. Can I remove it without removing the entire door panel.

How did everyone who painted theirs take off the chrome? Mine is peeling, took it off the door but its a pain in the ass trying to get the rest of the chrome off.
