Has anyone changed their automatic shift knob?
Ok. to remove the shift knob
1. take the chrome trim piece on the bottom of the knob and rotate to the right and push down at the same time.. should slide down
2. Useing a 2.5mm allen wrench remove the screw in the bottom of the back of the knob.
The the shifter shaft and rod is not like i have seen in most autos, the middle part(rod) which when pushed down, allows to move the shifter is recessed into the shaft.. most autos its right on top..
So as this is, i would say no u cannot put an aftermarket shift knob on, unless you put something to connect the button on top of the new knob to the shaft in the middle of the shifter... i hope this helps
