Haters hate, ima big boy
Finished fully detaling the car and took some pics with the new hood. It's a VIS carbon fiber hood (cant recall which one) that was dammaged in a wreck on another cobalt. I got it for $25.00 and had it fixed and painted. Im still on the fence with it but i've had alot of complements on it so far. We'll see if I still like it in a month. Whatcha think?

I agree though. It would probably look better if it were matched to the car instead of black.

I was thinking the same thing so I talked to my painter about it. He said if he painted it orange he'd have to blend it into the fenders and bumper to make it look right (metallic paint ). Then if he did that the factory hood wouldn't match back up again because of the metallic in the paint .

I think it would look better color matched. It won't be perfect but as long as it's close... Blending is usually pretty obvious. I would either get it painted and blended, then repaint the factory hood, or just get it painted as close as he can. I've seen our guys match metallic paints pretty close without blending before, not usually perfect but close enough, the light alone can make it look wrong.

Im also leaning on getting it color matched. Im sure he can get it really close I just dont want it blended because I want the factory hood to match perfect like it does. As far as looking "rice", that's what I DONT want. I had every honda that pulled up next to me want to race before I took the wing off.
Whatever I do I need to be done with it. It's already cutting into my Pedders fund .

The whole colour blending thing is such a sham, ok you blend the fenders to the hood but the what about the doors? Better blend those too, but what about the quarter panels? Oh ya gotta blend those as well... At that point might as well wait the whole car. Just get the hood painted, if your painter is good he'll get it close enough so no one will notice the difference
