Head rest

How does someone take the headrest off of the seat?

This is on a 09 Cobalt.

Thanks.

This is to put on some seat covers. My job can get a little dirty, so this is to try to keep the wear and tear and dirt and dust to a min.

Well i don't know what auto stores you have in Mississippi but up here in Canada we have a auto store called Canadian Tire that sells specility seat covers that go over the head rest with out taking it off, i'm sure you can find some down where you live.

Exclamation How To: Remove frontseat headrests

Tools Needed:
Paperclip (or something just as small will work)

Step 1: Locate pinhole (Its on the opposite side of the pushbutton that you use to lower the headrest)

Step 2: Raise the headrest as far as it will go.

Step 3: Insert the paperclip into the pinhole. Push on the paperclip (this will release the headrest) and then lift up on the headrest, it should come out.

When putting the headrest back in stick it in the holes and push down, you'll hear it lock into place. Then hit the pushbutton to lower it to a comfortable position.
