Headers or Subs?

i could get headers + downpipe for around 500 or i could get two 12 inch subs with a new amp, box and cover for 900. Which one?

Damn, what happened to the other.

Is this a serious question? Performance > grade school modifications

^^^ AGREED!!!! if your still 16 or 17 and in high school, maybe the subs..... but once you get older you dont really care as much..... **** I got rid of my 2 15s just cause it took up too much space, never mind how much they weighed, now i just got 1 12" Kicker L5 and it still pounds, lightweight and i have a trunk again.....

Performance>Everything else!

make a huge box that has to be assemelled in the trunk, put 2 15s in it, get a huge amp, problem sloved.... although my factory Pioneer high end can in noway keep up to them 2 15s.... had to have bass turned down and treb all the way up and amp only at about 50%.....
Ihad this system in my truck before which had an indash dvd, 4 Alpine 4 1/2" speakers in the factory location running off the deck and 2 6 1/2" in the doors(custom made box in the door) and 2 Alpine 6x9s in the back under the seats running off a 4 ch Alpine Amp..... Along with my 2 15" Rockfords..... Had my 1100watt kenwood Amp cranked and it still had a hard time keeping up with my high end... you could not turn it up all the way while in the truck, only at Bush partys, which was alright cause I was young at that time and went to lots of bush partys....
but you could be a mile away and you still hear the same amount of high end as you do bass..... which I though was awsome, most kids at the time had a shitty system with 2 12s or somthing and it was shitty, all you heard was bass.....

either way, good luck with whatever you do... just think system is 900? headers/downpipe is 500? you could buy a smaller system for 400, get 1 12 and a decent amp maybe, even buy something used or hot .....haha

header DP.. 1 it's cheaper.. 2 it'll make you go faster.. 3 you already have a catback... 4 because you can get 1 good 10 in and have some awesome sound that you can actually listen to your music intelligently...

i'm 22...

had a system in my old car (when i was 19).. and it's the same one i have in my ion... good for actuallly listening to music.. but it still bumps... i'm a bass freak but seriously.. 1 10 inch in a good box can hit hard enough for any type of music...

good choice..... if you have anymoney left(that $400 you saved but not going with the subs) you can also put that towards a custom tune.... probally be good for an extra 10-20hp and will make your car run better and maybe get better fuel milage too....or put it towards motor/trans mounts maybe? i dont know....

dont know if any of these guys are close but here ya go..... https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/tuning-131/available-tuners-locations-86603/

Also Dont NOT buy the "chips" off ebay.... these cars dont use chips, all it is, is a box with a resistor in it that changes the output on a sensor, which will trick your PCM. If you really want to do that, you could go to the source and spent $0.50 probally, but not worth it..... just spend the money and get proper tuning..... if you cant afford it, then save up or spend money on something else... just dont waste your money on that garbage.....
