Headlight Clear Coat Peel

his guys my clear coat on my Gen 1's headlights are shreding...does anyone know how to fix this... ill post up pics in a little bit...Need tips

Also i have small leak in my headlights, cause when i wash my car my headlights get fogg/misty in the headlights, does anyone know how to fix this

This is pretty common with these. I think your best bet is to replace the lenses or try one of the kits they sell at auto part stores for headlight repairs.

and the dirt u see on the lens isnt on the outside, its on the inside

peeling concern

i have the same problem with the peeling clear coat...what im planning to do is wet sand it and then re-clear it with a better clear


as for the leak, im not sure

Same thing happened to me. The lenses in Gen headlights are junk. The best way is to find a set of stock lenses and put them on. Looks better because they are smoked and no more crap lens.

you have two options, you can either use stock lenses as stated, or you can take your existing lenses and take them off, buy some rubber butyl and line the lenses with it, heat it back up in the over at 225, and press it back together, that should fix your leaking problems, then, wet sand them with 1000 and have someone clear coat them, a body shop should be able to do it between $50-$100.
