headlight corner reflector? aftermarket bulbs for foglights?

I have 2 questions...is it illegal, or even possible, to remove the amber colored reflector in the headlight? or just pull it out and bleach it so it doesn't stand out.? I want the clear corner look, but that piece just sticks out. I'm getting silverstar corner bulbs. Anyone have a pic of these bulbs, or of their headlight with the reflector modded? Or a night pic with aftermarket bulbs?
My other question is if there are aftermarket white or blue lights available for the foglights yet. I don't believe there is for silverstar, because I looked at work and it said they weren't available yet. I've looked other places and haven't found any yet.

it should be legal, I wanted to make mine clear but I was too anxious to get them on. As long as it reflects amber light theres nothing illegal about it

I wonder how hard it is to get to that piece, and how hard it is to take off. I'd like to see a pic of someone thats done it.

Don't mind my ignorance, but how are all of you getting inside your headlights? Anyone had any problems with moisture getting in afterwards?

There is nothing out to replace the square amber piece . There will probably never be something avail to replace it since the stock headlamp is sealed .

Here's my closest attempt at replacing it . This was just a mock up , I never finished it because I basically lost interest . The clear piece I got from a set of clear corners for a 95-99 style Chevy Silvarado . The curve of the lens just about matches the curve the of the Cobalt light .

Nice 1g , their sweet cars

The piece is easy to take off, it just pops off. To get into the headlights put em in the oven at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes, then pull As far as moisture just make sure you seal it back up afterwards with some good sealant.

I tried going look for bike relfectors that would fit it because it even has the bumps like a bike reflector haha, but unfortunately GM makes em slanty.

If I were to get the Black Halo/Projector Headlights, would it still be safe to bake them for 20-25 minutes at 200 degrees? I want to get these headlights, but want yellow halo rings instead of blue-tinted ones. Can I replace those (well, the LEDs in them) without even taking the headlights apart?

If you're looking for blue aftermarket foglights, go to eBay and search there. A company called Euro Dezigns makes some that are different colors, and they have a lifetime guarantee...send back the burnt out bulb and they send you a new set...

Where I live, it is illegal to remove the amber pieces to put clear ones in, not sure why, but it is. As for the foglights, try the supporting vendors (Automotive Lighting or VisionBulbs), they carry aftermarket foglights that have a white and/or blue tint to them.
