Headliner finish

I had my car in for warranty work this morning and the mechanic left some greased hand prints for me to clean up. while cleaning the stains I looked at the headliner where it meets the windsheild and man it looks cheap. The end of the material looks kind of frayed.
I have had many GMs and this area is always finished well. Does anyone else have this or is there a piece of trim missing from my car ?

I have a 04 silverado z71, and wifee has a new cobalt, both cars have same issue. i noticed right away on my truck, but have not said anything about it yet. I have a b2b 6/72, so i have plenty of time to make them replace it!. but you are right, the workmanship is not up to the standard it is supposed to be.
