Heated Seats on SS/SC

Anyone installed heated seats on the SS/SC yet? I wouldn't mind them for those brisk canadian mornings but I don't want to F anything up on my nice seats. Stupid GM for not making this an option even.

$200 I don't think it would be that cheap.. But if that is true.. And it's all factory stuff.. With the buttons on the dash and everything. I will take it to the dealer tomorrow and have some installed for real.. (well not tomorrow it's Thanksgiving .. But whenever I can)

Shouldn't cost too much to install...you would think it is part of the standard wiring harness. Just add the buttons, and run the wire to the seats and put in the elements.

Dealer installed option for only $200 would be amazing. If anyone finds it please post here because I haven't seen anything on the GM parts websites. Plus $200 just to get the buttons would be nice since the center bar on that dash just looks like something is missing, as though I didn't the most loaded car possible (well, minus OnStar I guess). I'm a little warry about ripping my own seats apart and drilling for a different switch. I really would prefer a factory/waranteed system.

Well.. I am gonna call the dealer tomorrow if I remember.. I will try to remember, and I will post a price on it.. Remember this will be in Canadian Dollars... And it might be on my discount so price may be higher.

Although I highly doubt it's $200. Cause that is pretty cheap.. But I mean if they are already in the harness and they need to install 2 buttons and the heating pads in the seats. Then it may.. But I mean some of that stuff is expensive..

Hey all,
Just got back from my Chevy dealer...
I went to pick up an armrest , but I asked the parts manager about the heated seats!
According to him, the parts can be ordered seperately. He gave me an exploded diagram of the seats. upper right of the doc has the marking 1A14-045 9/20/2004
If I can fix my scanner I will post a scan of it.
He quoted me prices as well, $65 per heating pad (x4) and $40 for the switch.
Gives us a rough total of about $300 or so for the parts.
SO, Parts are available , now for some research. Can anyone verify that the wires are there in the harness still for the SS/SC? Also if any one here has the heated seats can they take photos? Not just the switch but possibly the harness behind the switches or under the seat.
I dont think it will be too hard to do if the wires remain except for disassembling the seats to put the pads in!!

RECAP :Parts are available (around $300) Pics needed for install (of existing heaters)

Oh Yeah the dealer said that they would NOT install them as it involved tearing down the seats

Ya that is the exact anwer I got from them as well.. They will not install them, only get them from factory.. Which I do not understand.. Cause when I worked at the dealer.. I use to see the interior (trim guys) taking apart seats before and fixing them.. Dam it..

You might want to check with Tom at Crateenginedepot, he sent me info this week, there is a lot involved with a OEM looking install.
