Help with Halo Lights

Was hoping I could get some help. I bought an 08 ss that looks to have the following lights.

05-10 Chevy Cobalt Halo LED Projector Headlights - Black

I really enjoy the car and have not driven it all that often until this last month. Just the other night I was going to work and I wasn't sure that the head lights were on... I know they were working before. I checked the high beams and they were fine so I figured I would take a quick look when I got to work maybe there was a burnt bulb etc. Then some jerk of a cop pulls me over draws his firearm and acts like I murdered someone... then he proceeds to harass me in front of my place of work... sure enough though both headlights were not working.

I have no base line to compare these lights to for wiring etc... I guess it could be a ballast thing with day time running lights based on what I have been reading but I don't know if these are upgraded to HIDs or what... I am at a bit of a loss being that I wasn't the one who modified the car.

Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would start by removing the DRL fuse. Then check both low beam fuses. If there is a relay harness check the fuse on that too. Pull those headlights out and look at all the wiring, make sure nothing is melted or corroded. If all the connections look okay and turning them on and off does nothing, I would go ahead and get a new hid kit, who knows how old those bulbs are if you just bought the car.

Thanks, Pulled all the fuses and they are all good. Wiring looks okay; seems odd to me that both headlights would go out at the same time though... I might just try some new bulbs and see where that gets me but then I guess its on to an HID kit... do you have any recommendations?

As long as you stay away from eBay you should be fine. Zzp and buyhids.com both have kits at a good price

Have to defend ebay a bit here.. I got the 6000k hids from ebay and they have been working perfect for three weeks now. Luminus brand with h7 bulbs and tiny ballasts.

Paid 39.99 with shipping

Now Xentec I would avoid like hell because they are ****..

I agree but I have also seen people pay over $100 for there kits and in a month or two one bulb is blue and one is white.

However this was my first time ever doing HID so I didnt want to blow too much money if I didnt like the outcome.

You have 1st gen projectors if that helps any. Post some pics up too of the wiring so we can help out as well. Sometimes it's just bad wiring. If you do have HID's, then I don't think you can have them as the DLR's since they don't get enough power to light up (someone can correct me on this as I'm not 100% sure).
