I have an appointment to get my windows tinted on Monday. Can't decide if I want to do 35% all around or 35% fronts and 20% back......Post pics if you got em and let me know what you got and how you like it. My car is black coupe with the all black interior.

 

Looks like the tint law in IL is 35%. Might as well get that all around so you don't have to worry about getting pulled over lol.

 

thats what I keep telling myself....i know that with the black interior it is going to look a little darker than it actually is as well.

pretty much hahah, if my car was white i would get 50% around for a nice light tint, but with black its either go big or go home so yah i will be sticking with 20%

Go as dark in the back & front as the law allows, or be prepared to be stopped alot and hasseled by the cops. And get tickets and have to remove it.

 

I'd go 20% all around. Pretty sure thats what I had on my old car. Unless you are in the middle of nowhere and its totally dark it was alright. I lived in Detroit and Columbus Ohio then so I was almost never in the middle of nowhere though.

And yes Michigan state police gave me a ticket for it once but unless I got them a few times I wouldn't have pulled it off.

I've had 35% on the doors and 5% out back since my car was 3 days old. Love it.

I would say to go with 35 on all the windows but the bad thing about tint is that ur never dark enough it seems like i always wish iwould have gone a shade darker or did the sun strip lower or something

 

legal is 27% here... most people here ride around with 5% all around... i'm planning on doing 15% with 50% on the windshield with a 5% strip across the top of the windshield.

 

ct is 35% to. its really up to you. i got a lifetime warranty on the tints because i got it legal. i got 35% all around. but sometimes i look at my car and wish i got darker. but again. depends on what you think youll be happier with. having lifetime warranty and not getting pulled over, or having your car look a little better and having the chance of being pulled over and having them MAKE you take the tints out.

edit: nvm! ha i just realized u asked if u should get 35 in front and darker in the back. im not sure how that would look. i think i like even tints all around for the most part

 

i have 20% all around and love it...looks nice, although it does make it a little hard to see turning on to dark streets at night. I don't have to worry about cops though, all of them around me have darker tint than i do.....

Got my tint done today....turns out Illinois just recently changed their laws.....40% is legal now all around or no tint front and dark as u want in the back. So...I got the 40%. Not as dark as I want but don't want cop trouble.....will post day time pics tomorrow....was already getting dark when I picked the car up.
