HID fog question

I know HID don't cut through fog very well, but my question is how well do they compare to stock fogs with their ability to cut the fog? Where I live it can be fairly foggy and I don't want to shoot myself in the foot because I put in HID lights in my fogs.

personally i bought the 3000k fogs, i'm pretty happy with them, the stockers dont shine far, but these are a lil better, i adjusted them a little. I think they do fairly well in the fog being they set much lower, as they need to. I know alot of ppl will say they reflect alot more but i think they do fine. ANyone else?

Also mine are 35watt, i have 50watt ballast but the bulbs put out a lil more heat and i didnt have a spare harness at the time so i just stuck with the 35's to be safe.

I wouldn't say the quality is very good. They took a good amount of work to bring them up to Canadian Climate spec... but they are the best looking ones IMO!
I've seen the second gens, and they are on par with stock quality, has all the same markings, uses what appears to be the same as stock materials and everything. Very nice.
