HID only working when cold outside?

Well for the last couple weeks I has been driving with 1 HiD but now that the temperature has dropped at night as I live in Canada they have both been working only when it's below 10 degrees ish. Any idea what the problem could be? I have a new ballast on the way but I'm wondering if its not the ballast. I have G3 retros If that makes a difference

make sure you check the grounds for the HID's, do you have a relay?

Sounds like a short some place. When its cold out everything shrinks. Sounds like it might be the bulb or possibly an issue with the ballast. Swap out the ballast and see if that fixes the problem.

The bulb works on the other side so that's why I thought it was the ballast. I will check the ground and see it that makes a difference

Well it worked for 2 days and now I went out and sanded the area under the fender bolt to make sure it had a good ground and still nothing? But still works when it's cold. Each side has their own relay and the passenger one works all the time. Any ideas?

Assuming your running your G3 retros its the harness. There notorious for failing because they get wet.

Depending on the style harness you have. The OLd school 9007 Bi-Xenon harness from TRS may work. Shoot Matt@theretrofitsource.com an email and say mike sent ya to see if they had any orginal 9007 Bi-Xenon harness's.

You swap bulb sides to confirm not bulb? I know shot in dark my kit 1 month after I had it did it couple times. 5 months later bulbs crap and works when it wants to just got a quote from mike on a bulb... Hope that's 2 but I have my doubts :p

Yeah I have a spare bulb that I used on the passenger side and it worked and then hooked it up on the drivers side and nothing. Wish this happened before I would of bought some mini H1s from the hid sale and started building my original ones.
