^Thats fucked up dude. To say something like that is wrong and for you to give a **** so much is just plain gay. I think you need to relax and pull ur wedgie out and go look at an adjusted set of HID's on a cobalt b4 you run ur mouth and say stupid ****. Its ******* headlights. If he said "im gonna drive around with my highbeams on everysingle day" then he would be an ******* and I still wouldnt say "i hope you get pulled every day" because im not a ******. You on the other hand take a little refracted light completely out of context. Hes gonna do it right, and you shouldnt care.

These are, IMO, the reasons you should use projectors with HID instead of using the stock housing:

1) Appearance. HID in a reflector housing does not look all that great. I've seen Cobalts with 8000K hid in the stock housing and it just looks awful.

2) Safety. The cutoff prevents you from blinding other drivers. When you blind another driver with scattered light from a stock housing, you're essentially making them unable to see the road markings and signs. So it could cause an accident. This also includes lane violations which can lead to them hitting YOU and your Cobalt head on.

3) 5-0/Cops/Krispy Creme Bandits/Bears...etc. Projector housings makes it harder for an officer to determine if your lights are OEM or a Plug and Play kit. Although there are OEM HID reflectors in some cars... they're not very common. So usually officers will look for HID color and output from a reflector type housing to determine who is highly suspect for having an illegal HID kit (HID Plug and Play kits are not approved for road use. Legal OEM HID setups are only D2S/D2R size and their optics are specifically designed. Although the eBay projectors are not considered legal housings with HID in them, you're at least fooling most cops into thinking your lights are OEM. The rule of thumb is: "Don't blind the cops." If you blind the cops, they WILL light you up. City cops are not nearly as likely to enforce lighting, but rural cops that have nothing to do or state police who are needing fill that thing that isn't a "Quota" are more likely to do so.

........ how can you guys say hids in stock housings arnt blinding I HAD THEM, I KNOW THEY ARE, you guys are crazy and in denial..... you all need to stop being so damn cheap and buy projectors..... so many kids around here are going around with them in stock housings, they look like ****, and blind everyone..... you do know that if someone runs into you head on, all they have to say is "your illegal headlights bind me, i couldnt see....." and your 100% in fault.......... get some projectors.....

Quite a few OEM HID setups use reflector housings:

Town Car
08-09 Mustang
Mark VIII

The OEMs should have designed better headlights if they were interested in safety.

stock lowbeams suck ass. and projectors on a yellow car look ugly as ****. I had a set of projectos and sold them cause when i put them in they looked like ass. unfortunately for oncoming traffic, im gonna be blinding the **** out of you. Hopefully not, ill adjust them the best I can and lower my car so hopefully my headlights will be as high as most cars foglights, but if you look at a 47 degree angle and happen to get a strand of light in your eye, sucks for you.

why do ppl put down ebay hids? there the exact same as the hids that 3bspecs and ddmtuning sell. just with a diff label. and i do not recomend 55W kits. there have a shorter life span. and the 35W are just as bright. and i think hids look alot better in stock housings.

Im telling you man I used to be nice on this site but lately people on this site just make me wanna gag myself. Every single person has something negative to say. You make a thread asking for opinions and the only people that will post on that thread is people saying "DONT DO IT!" or will tell you something better that they have. you post a pic of 10 things you did to your car and they make lik e9 and not 1 and youll have 14 posts saying to take that 1 thing off. just rediculous. I feel like people get mad if they dont have something or they decided to go another route, then they flame on all the people that didnt follow them. lol.

Yo OP, post up some pics of those HID's i wanna check these beasts out.

Pickups and SUVs already blind oncoming traffic with their higher mounted headlights.

Also for some unknown reason, I will get flashed repeatedly when I drive my 07 Mustang GT with the factory stock foglights and headlights. A fully marked patrol car even flashed his spotlight at me for having the foglights on. This isn't just an isolated incident either - a large portion of Mustang owners reported the same problem. Once they switched to HID retrofits, the flashes stopped.
