HID Question
HID Question
Im kinda a newb with this I am wanting to get HIDs and am wondering when the HIDs are wired in does the automatic lights still work and will my running lights still work. Im leaning towards 3rd gen projectors and am wondering what bulbs are used for running lights and turn signals.
Also where is the best place to buy projectors and HIDs (leaning towards 3b spec)

The drls will mess with the hids. You need to take the drl fuse out. What year is your car? Buy the projectors on eBay. The gods you can get from either 3bspec for buyhids.com for best quality.
i installed mine in stock houseing from b3, hids are good, highbeams suck so bad im actually selling them and getting true philips bixenon hids, which are high and low beam hids that are motorized and the bulb points up when u turn on highbeams. so no worry about charge time when i wanna highbeam someone. but ur getting projectors so that wont apply to u. auto lights still work fine. my drl didnt work at all after i put in my hids with or without a fuse, but i took the fuse out to be safe. there is stuff u can buy like a capasitor module to make them work i do believe. and my hids didnt flicker either or anything either. i dont need drls anyway, dont think u do either.
i dont know if you saw this, but i think they might not be doing this anymore you cann check it out if you want.

oh they are bright, but since u are getting projectors u can put a decent highbeam bulb in there, since u have high and low beam as 2 seperate bulbs. the stock light u cant cause its all in one bulb, and the one they got on those is worse than low beam haligon. i dont know why they made mine stop working, usually they just flicker, or the hids dont work, but the reason is ur drls run on i think ur low beams but on reduced power, the power pulses to cause reduced power so then ur low beams are dimmer during the day and thus become ur drls. with hids, hids need to be a full 12v all the time to work, when drls come on the hids flicker and burn out alot sooner cause they are not getting the full power they need.
ill pm u the site since im sure ill get a warning if i post it here.

the reason for this is that when the DRLs are one in most vehicles it runs the highbeams at a lower voltage. HID bulbs dont really like low voltage and at any rate the beam pattern would be dangerous if they were on

i failed to mention i have 3rd gen halos so i dont have to worry about this do i?
most people half ass it and use plug and play lol. i do believe relays help tho. i pulled my DRL fuse during install so im not sure if my retros flicker. and im sure as **** not going to put the fuse back in to find out
theres really no need. DRLs are useless anyways.
haha. but i think imma pull my fuse to. screw it lol
so if i buy these on ebay I use the hids as low beams then what other bulbs go in the housings?

look more on ebay you can find nice halo housings with hids allready in them for deff under 300. i personally like the 8k hids cuz of the tint of blue. dont get the 3rd gen halos. they blow. something about the light cut off sucks. trust me i want to smash them out with a hammer everytime i drive at night.
budget 99 bucks more lol... these are 100% better than other headlights if u want to go HID. by far the best headlight for the value

found these. but they are 3rd gen. idk how the light cutoff is with the hid. my hids are in the mail as we speak, cant wait to see if they are better at night.
