HID questions..

So, I read the other threads, now I have some questions.

So currently I have the halo projectors on my car, i read that they do not support HIDs. And Im really looking to get HIDs into my car. I was wondering what headlights/HIDs I should look into? Thanks!

you have 3 options,1 retrofit a projector into ur stock housing, 2 buy ebay projectors and use HIDS anyway or 3 just use hids in a stock reflector lens (alot of people dosnt like this method cuz of "glare" i really dont have much, well i dont think i do, no one has complained) but yeah the ebay projectors can be used with hids, they just have that stamp on them because of legal issues. (just a word to the wise they are known to melt, and be low quality some times)

i'm sure ive typed this out like 20 times already........ search HID and be amazed at how many topics there is

Ah, sorry bout that Thanks though for typing it again for me, lol.

Ah, so HIDs could possibly work with my HID projectors, hmm.... I might consider doing that now actually. Thank you for information!

Any preference for the actual HID kit?

Don't let the idiots on this site scare you... you can run HIDs in your ebay projectors. I've been doing it for months now and haven't had a single problem. No melting... No fogging... Zero glare... Perfect cutoff... and I still have high beams. If you retrofit HIDs into a projector in your stock housing, you'll lose high beams (and here in PA, that's illegal and your car won't pass state inspection). I'm sick of the self-proclaimed "HID experts" on this site that think they know everything about exterior lighting just cause they've read a few articles on the net.

If you want to see what mine look like, take a look here. They're clean and provide great, safe lighting.

Idiots? Thats not nice.

By retrofitting HID projectors into your stock housing, you lose high beams only if you use a single xenon projector. I have used a bi-xenon projector, so not only do I have HID low beams, but I also have HID high beams (FTW!)

I also hope you aren't talking about me when you talk about just reading articles on the internet. I have retrofitted many a car and also have put tons of time and effort into learning about Xenon light in the automotive world. For those who speak of HID, they are learning by reading these articles on the internet, so why say they are not knowledgable?

where can i get a bi-xenon projector, and it wont fit in the halo projectors right?

With my halo projectors, would i be best then just getting a normal hid kit?

well in ur case you dont need the "bi-xenon" cuz you have the ebay projectors anyway (thus you have high and low beam) bi-xenon is when you just have one bulb, (such as mecurys setup) the way those projectors work is, when in low, theres a sheald of sorts (donno the true name for this peace) across the projector only allowing light to shine on the lower part of the road (has a cut off point) than when you what high beam, this "sheald" moves, giving you the full light of the bulb, thus giving you "high beam"

but in ur case, you have 2 seprate bulbs, one for high one for low. all you need is a h1 hid kit (from unleek ) and hook them up to your low beam projectors.

I didn't say you... did I?

Your setup is fairly clean... and although I'm not a fan of bi-xenons, at least you keep high beam functionality.

1 set of ebay projectors melted.
and he had halogens in at the time
they melted due to condensation getting on his projector lens and creating a focal heatspot.

HIDs melting projectors is a MYTH.
the sticker on the ebay lights is there for legal reasons only. if you look, the outside of the projectors has a SAE/DOT stamp which is no longer valid if you use HID bulbs.
hence the sticker.

halogens= 55watt +
HIDs = 35watt

hmmmm HIDS hotter? i think not.

H11 are the fog lights. H1 is the bulb type for the projectors as mentioned.

I have bixenon ebay kit in my redline

They work great on low beams but are a lil hi for my tastes on hi beam...tho u can see a ton of the road...only got to test em for one night tho

There are glare spots off my lights compared to ppazz's when we compared them against a wall

lastly my bixenon 9007 kit has a solenoid that moves teh bulb down when u hit teh hi beams so it refracts up...works well...but like i said its aims a lil too hi for my tastes

yup. its more of an issue with the projector lens than what bulb is providing the heat source.
2 isnt too too bad out of how many people have ebay projectors...
the ebay projectors are known to have issues with condensation, and dried water on your lens is the culprit for melting them.

Before mine even went on the car I poured 2 full tubes of silicone sealant at all of the joins.

yeah havent had them fog up yet.
Lots of people havent had any fogging without doing anything to thiers in the way of sealing....
So it could just be a quality issue from the warehouse with the projectors, and some people are just getting a bad housing.
most of the people who have had fogging get it in 1 headlight.

Yes, I have one side fogging up, Would you suggest waiting until its unfogged, and then adding some silicone?

Are the Cobalt-addiction ones the same as the ones on Ebay? Still have same chances of it possibly fogging up? I really want to have the Halos and HIDs, but there is no way I'm gonna put money into them until I'm sure that there won't be a chance of issues.

dude these are after market parts, you have to expect SOME problems, they have a warrantie so if they do fog, they will replace them
