Hid relay question

I was reading through the "hid-what to know before you buy" and noticed he stating you need a relay to run off your 35w hid kit. I have kits for heads and fogs that I have not put in yet, but will they be fine without a relay? Anyone doing this? Thanks!

It should, that's the point of a fuse. I definitely suggest using a relay though. It's simple to wire up and def worth it.

Ok thanks, until I get around to buying them, I just want to know that my hids will run safely without relays

make sure you either a. mount the relay upright and in a position not to get wet. Thats what I've done and its been good for almost 2 years, or b. get a waterproof relay which has rubber seals and mount it upright and in a position not to get wet, I wired my friends car and didn't follow those rules with the first 2 relays. Needless to say they rusted and failed.

Depending on the HID kit you have you could have some issues powering them without a relay, like I do. They take multiple tries to come on and will go off periodically.
