HID's
Hey guys, I am about to finalize my order at buyhids.com and just had a quick question. I used the search button to try and find a similar post and even look in the 'HID crash course' post and didn't get a definate answer. BUT is it necessary to run a relay if i am only getting 6000k HID's with a 35w ballast???? Any answer is great just please say why or why not

cool thanks man, i knew what its purpose was but i was just unsure if i got the lower wattage ballast if it would STILL burn up the wiring.
im so torn between 5000k and 6000k hahahahaha guess i better make up my mind like NOW.

Yes, just do it. It's only like $15. Save's you a LOT of headaches down the road. Lots will tell you they have them and haven't had any problems, but they just haven't ran them long enough. Will they work without them, yes. How long will they last without a harness? That's simply a matter of luck.
i installed mine without one and a week later one of the ballasts blew out i talked to the guy that sold me them and he said our cars require a relay and he hooked me up for like $20 bucks installed and i have 6ks lows only with 55w yellow fogs and its a great combo
Been running mine for years without a relay and until somebody can show me mathematical proof that the current will exceed the wires capability, I'm not going to run excess wiring.
Hell I've been running 100W high beams on stock wiring for years too haha.
I'm at the upper limits of the wiring, but I'm not over them by any means.

y would u need a relay?... aha hids run on lower wattage than the stock headlights. but sure. and 5000k. good choice man. thats what ive got and i loveeee them. when warming up there a light ass blue which is sexy and then once theyre warmed up they r like bright white. loveee them. enjoy man. and best of luck with the install.
best advice. be patient. dont get frustrated. take your time and do it right. itll be worth it.
