HID's in high and low beams on Gen1 projectors

What is needed, besides the obvious (two HID kits) to make this possible? I have a set of GEN1 Projectors, and want to put HID's in both the high and low beam housings. I know people say that hooking them up like that isn't a good idea because switching from the high/low beams will give you very little light to drive with temporarily while the bulbs warm up. My question is, is there a way to hook up both sets so they are on at the same time. So the light from the low beam never cuts off when switching from high to low? (the low beam is on all the time, but both are on when you switch to the high beam) so there is no loss of light? I know I could add a separate switch to activate the high beams or whatever to just switch on the highs, but is there a way to do it using the stock high/low switch?

I dont believe there is a way without rewiring with relays. I have HIDs for sale. PM me if interested.

Well if you hold manual high beam (pull the lever toward you) it keeps the highs and lows on.

Otherwise you need a relay

okk, I have been looking for info on this the past couple days and checked out the official headlight and taillight thread:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-ultimate-high-beams-projectors-68252/

does anyone have pictures of this done? or where to get the relays from to make this work?

This can be done, but you are going to need wiring harnesses for this. Check this site and search because there is a lot of useful info and schematics.

why's that? I drive around Pennsylvania at night where there is little to no light, i think it would be good to really light up the road, no?

Education time:

HID's in high beam halogen housings will scatter light EVERYWHERE. You will light up trees before you light up the road.

It's something called concentrated light output. Just because you have HIDs in a halogen housing doesn't make it better for light output and your ability to see. The road may look "cooler" because you have blue lights, but your ability to see will be diminished.

Placing HIDs in the Gen 1 projectors is marginal at best.

4300K for color.

Anything else?

no nothing else, just learning about them and trying something that i thought would help, i know it scatters light, I've read the hid post on here and see that it scatters light everywhere, but the roads i drive on have no one on the at night. plus i want to wire them so both the highs and lows will be lit up at the same time. if your from a wooded area, its good to see the trees and the side of the road because you have to watch for damn deer where I'm from.

P.s. I'm not looking for the "cooler" look, i want them so i can see better at night

Its okk, I understand what you mean about the light scattering and what not, thats why i decided to get the gen1's and the hid's for the low. DDM was having a sale on them so i decided to pick up two and try this out. But anyways, I'm from the Mount Pocono/East Stroudsburg area. I see you are from PA too, so i'm assuming you know what I mean about the deer at night too lol

I had them installed for like a week and didn't think they were as bright as my stock lights, so took them out band put the stock ones back in. the projectors have been sitting in my living room for the past month or so.
