yeah thats the only good way, unless you can find a wingless to trade you

some will suggest black vinyl and some will suggest plugs, but those are awefully halfassed imo

The only right way to do it is to have the holse welded and trunk lid painted. Depending on the color, they may even have to blend your quarter panels to get a color match. I would have them shave the trunk lock cylinder too if you are going that far. Cost really depends on the shops labor rates, quality of materials and techs they employ and how much they want to do the job. I will be honest, but there are some jobs we get that I just don't want to do so I will give an obscene price quote so I know they won't bring it to me. If they say yes to the obscene price, well then I couldn't afford not to do it. If quarter panels don't have to be blended, I would say a good shop willl charge between $400-$600.

depends if you do the work your self befor you take it to the body shop, not to hard to fill in the holes and prep it befor hand, saves you a few hours in labor at the shop which = money in your pocket

I only suggest doing that if you have experience in doing body work. If you have no experience then do not attempt to do it. It is not as easy as some people may think and it could cost you more to to have the shop undo what you did and then fix the original problem. I get a lot of "do it yourselfers" at my shop and out of the many that have showed up with their own body work, only one did it right. The rest just took blind guesses at what to do and it cost them.

i was quoted 582 by a chevy dealership to fill in and repaint the four holes from the spoiler, as well as the keyhole removed. keep in mind its a quote by a dealership, so expect that to be on the high side.

what if i was to bondo it. sand it and possibly primer it so that they would only have to paint it and clear coat it.

Well I plugged the holes myself and painted them because I wanted to have it available to put the wing back on if I sold it. I used a clear silicone sealant and it has been fine.

I just had my local dealership swap out my lid with a wingless one... didn't cost me anything and they swapped over the lock cylinder, and took the badges off for me!

One thing when removing your lock cylinder from your trunk is some of you guys have your battery in your trunk. If you disconnect your battery for some reason then close your trunk with no lock cylinder, you will have a hell of a time getting your trunk back open and the battery re-connected. Just a thought....

he has a really good point here guys

i got rid of the trunk lock on my cavalier, but i had a manual release inside of the car, if the battery was to die you would have no way into the trunk

You just want to learn the hard way don't you. Do you even know how to use bondo or what it's intended purpose is? I don' think you do. Please save yourself some trouble and pay the money for a quality job or go the carbon fiber route like someone else suggested.

you'd have to be super thin to get through the seats. the release switch to drop the seat backs is at the trunk opening, not at the rear seats. i wouldn't even want to think about how to open the trunk in that kind of situation. definatly something i never thought of!

um no... you can simply put a battery jump box on the fuse box under the hood to get power then pop the trunk and reconnect the battery
