I'm in need of a new hood and i want to go carbon fiber. Do all carbon fiber hoods really need hood pins?

 

No I have a CF hood and have had the car at high speeds for extended periods of time (road course), absolutely no problems at all. The only time I've ever seen a car *need* hood pins is if the hood latch is faulty or unreliable.

 

ive had my carbon fiber hood up to 160 and no issues. no flex, no nothing

 

just some tracks require them
