thats all it does, lol, increase airflow around the engine. so you get cooler air for intake temps and your engine stays cooler overall.

Like he just said, colder air around the engine so the CAI draws in cooler air

FYI hood scoop and CAI will not do anything.. you would want a SRI to get air from a hood scoop as a CAI for our cars are inside the fenders

^^ exactly. A short ram intake would benefit not the CAI because the CAI is in the fender well.

a short ram intake has the filter in the engine bay, instead of a cold air intake, which has the filter down below the headlight.

ya ram intake r stupid. colder air is better for the car so y would you want a filter up on top of the motor?? makes no sense.. cold air sits lower so would you rather have an intake down by the wheel? or would you rather have one on top of the motor where the heat rises to. its just dumb. maybe if you get a hood that directs the air right at the intake but even that is not worth it. colder air lower so get a lower intake. ha simply said

left hand side as in while your looking the motor? do you have an ss? or a base model? the turbos have the intake system on that side and so do the base models i beleive. but yea if you can see the filter than its a ram air.
