How much power is too much on a fuse slot?

I hope this isn't a dumb question but I'm sort of electrical stupid so here's my question. I've got 2 LED strips (15 inch) and 4 separate LEDs hooked up to my sunroof fuse in the fuse box. I used an add a circuit and I have my interceptor on the other part. I don't have a sunroof by the way. I'm just wondering if I could hook up another two LED strips to that fuse or if I need to find another fuse? If I need to find another fuse which fuse do you suggest using, I would prefer one that comes on with the car and goes off with it too.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

all depends on resistance of each item... they would all be connected in parrallel is my guess and being fed 12 volts each... all you need to do is figure out how many amps you have flowing threw the circuit and if its around 14 (which i doubt) then you'll need another fuse

He's got it pretty close. An LED uses almost no current to use, so you'll have no problem frying wires if all you're hooking up is LEDs and other low current items

LED's are pretty safe. The most correct answer is you need to know what the load of the total circuit is and then wire it accordingly, but LED's have a small load.

What you need to be careful of is how you wire it to the fusebox. Very easy to screw that part up.

How so? Do you mean using the wrong side of the fuse?

Yes. If you connect AFTER the stock fuse, you are using the stock fuse to protect your circuit. If you connect BEFORE the stock fuse, then you need to make sure you use a separate in-line fuse. Additionally, you have to be sure you pick the right bus to plug into (hot, acc., switched).

Check out these 1.2A and 1.4A high-powered cluster LEDs on this site http://www.roithner-laser.com/LED_HP_multi_chip.html.

Let's see you put 937819192 of those on one fuse without it blowing!!

Ok that's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure you were talking about something I'm unaware of.

I'm using my sunroof slot to do it and I have the add a circuit thing so that seemed pretty idiot proof. I'm 99% sure it's right. lol
