Well I was gonna buy a shortie antenna but it was just cheaper to buy a stock one (thanks shortbus), so im gonna take the hillbilly route and make my own. How short should I make it? I know some people have made it roof level, but shorties are like 8-10". Just looking for everyones two cents. Thanks.

 

mine is cut to 6'

 

I cut the entire thing off of a truck, all I have is the hex shaped base, painted in black wrinkle-finish. Looks good to me, and I still get good radio reception in most places. Besides, thats why I have a CD/MP3.

 

Well when I had me antenna stolen, yes some ***** stole my antenna, I used a nut and an acorn nut. I even quickly painted them black. So basically I had a nub of an antenna, and reception was pretty good too. Well my dad got sick of that, so he bought me a shorty antenna, it was like $8. Its not a straight antenna, its sorta curly, like a spiral. Its sorta around 7-8 inches..

 

I also have a rubber shorty antenna, maybe a foot or so, but I didn't want it. Would anyone want to buy it??
