How to wash a black car....

OK maybe I am just crappy at doing this, but everytime I try and wash my car it always leaves some kind of streaks or water spots. I have tried using new high quality chamois for drying, tried avoiding the sun when drying. However, no matter what I do, I always seem to have streaks or spots.

Anyone else with a black car have this problem, or better yet know a solution???

get some quick detail spray and use it after you dry the car.

I always use my Mr. Clean autodry thing after a car wash. I usually use a pressure washer to wash the car, then after I'm done I use the Mr. Clean filter setting and spray the whole car down with filtered water. It may be strange and time consumming, but no more water spots.

it's the pond water your using. Go to a place with fresh water. If your using well water or unpurified city water it will do this (leave water marks).

Also, if your using a microfiber towel that claims it's a microfiber towel (cheap brand) you will push the dirt into the paint making it painstakingly hard to get it off.

Yeah but I live in the city, so where am I going get purified water from? It's not like I can drive over to the Swiss Alps and use spring water.

make sure you are keeping your car wet while you wash it, cause that water will dry if out in the sun, i always wax my car after i wash, but there is such thing as baked in water spots, they are deep and hard as hell to get out, i would recommend meguiars clay bar, try that after a wash, and see then

The Mr. Clean autodry thing comes with a filter, that actually filters the water. THe basic sysyem costs around $10. Not bad for the price, cuz that filtered water does really work.

I use the autodry too. It works really well for leaving no water spots. If there is any water left behind I just go over it with a microfiber towel.

most people on this website have no clue what this product that im about to give you is....But idk if you have any speciality stores around you if so go look for a product called "DURAGLOSS" they have a special soapy shampoo for our car, spray wax, and also a really good and i mean really good wax that is used for things such as water spots or i forgot the word now but say some spots like right underneath your wing where the paint is really dry go to say it isnt as smooth as most places on the car....I put this stuff on let it get hazzy and it was all gone!!! I mean all gone, i have tried every type of buffing, waxes, and so on and this stuff works miracles....

I dont know about you all but i have had a few problem areas on my car as i said underneath my wing right on the trunk, and on the wing ends on the car where you usually cant touch with a buffer... Duragloss, best stuff i have ever used!!!!!

and of course microfiber towels

I pretty much have done all the above except clay(have it, but not enough time) , my thing is all the water that gets trapped under the pillars of the wing. No matter how much i dry, blow hot air thru it, let it sit in the sun to dry out the water(100 plus temps) and I will drive some where and there it is, yet another water trail down the trunk and across the bumper

leave your trunk open for about 10 mins while drying your car and you will get all the water out

The Mr.Clean Autodry really is amazing. I'm out in the country so we have well water that is just full of fail that makes waterspots like noneother. The Mr. Clean thing will last about 5 washes and then it will not work as well for about another 2 but it's worth it. It says it would last something like 10 washes easy but our water is just too full of crap. Amazing to drink, not so much for cars.

i use
EAGLE ONE CAR WASH
Do not use nano wax anything on black cars, it does some weirdddd **** to the paint, it will tear your microfiber off and like GLUE IT to the car, and later, it will start hazing up. the shittiest wax i've ever bought haha, i hate that stuff.
I use eagle one ORIGINAL Car WASh
Then after that i use a California Drying blade

and then follow up to get all the missed things with a
MICROFIBER towel

And then after i wash it i use a cleaner wax to fix the small scratches, ZYMOL works best 4me

Then we go on to the waxing polishing glazing etc etc, for wax i usually use meguiars NXT and your car will shine sexiness.

good luck!

ditto on the well water, i used it at my lakehouse once with meguiars car wash and it left a shitload of water marks that wouldn't come off till like 2 washes after haha
