I was taught by my father to wash, dry, and then take her for a spin (be it just up and down my roat (court) or around the block, or somewhere that there isnt any dust or dirt). They all come out for sure there. then just wipe off the waterspots afterwards. If i do run into any dust or anything i claybar it off and then finish up with the wax/polish.

1. Wash it however you normally do, just try to avoid direct sun on a super hot day(black cars get hot super easy and are prone to water spots. I try to wash mine in the evening or the morning 8 Am/PM)

2. Try to dry it as best as you can with a microfiber towel, absorber, squeege, or just a towel if you have to.

3. Let the nasty areas competely dry (grill, rear windows, mirrors, trunk, etc)

4. Turtle Wax ICE FTW!!! Once the car is dry (100%) spray down with ICE, then wipe once, and then wipe again to get it completely glossy. Do one section at a time so the ICe doesn't dry. Once your done, take pics and post them here because theres nothign sexier than a Clean Black Car!

I have found the best way drying the car is using my leaf blower with the short extension on it. I do a section or so and then dry it. It takes me a good hour or two to do my trailblazer ss but its worth it to do it in sections.

I wash my car one panel at a time... I am amazed no one has mentioned that. Wash the fender, dry the fender. Wash the roof, dry the roof. Then when I am done I rinse the whole car and dry. My dad has a fairly large air compressor with a air filter kit the air is clean, 300 psi of air usually blows the water out and then i dry the best I can with a microfiber towel. I agree with Jerem! ICE for the win on black cars, you can buff it in direct sunlight and you shouldn't get any sun spots... at least I don't.

Last option, take your car to the dealer and have a recall done (Complimentary detail!)
