I just got my car today :)

Hello all ! I am a newb , in fact this is my first post , but please I dont expect to get bashed for being a newb , I am new to cobalts , NOT the automotive world . in fact I sell cars for a living . so please haters just keep hatin ! haha j/p but seriously . anyways I got a LT1 special edition (basically it just has a revolution package) I like it but its missing alot , I have big plans for this car because I got rid of my GC8 for it , and for those of you who don't know what a GC8 is , its a 2.5rs Impreza , I had to get rid of it because it had a million and one problems because I molested it and on top of that it had horrible engine knocking , I am pretty sure it was a rod knock but like I said I got rid of it. now I plan to boost this new cobalt of mine but 1st is looks , then suspension , then exhaust , then the big stuff. SO , now that I am getting to the point lol , what's your opinion on black cars with gold wheels? thats what I was planning on doing but I havent been able to find one Cobalt that has this . makes me sad B/c I had a black subie , with gold rims and I loooooved the way it looked but all my friends made fun , I will never get it .... I love black and gold , white and gold , and blue and gold. anyways thanks in advance.

Welcome!
Gold rims look ghetto IMO, but you should do what ever pleases you!

Congrats on the Cobalt.

Gold wheels always look good on black cars. I know a few guys in my area that have gold wheels on their cars.......an RSX, a few STI's, some Civics.....etc etc.

Go with the ecotec build book if you want to go FI. Ur safest and cheapest bet is N20.

Looks wise, go with the SS front bumper. That LT bumper isnt very good looking. I think black and gold would look decent, so long as its not a gautty gold color. Myabe a dim gold or light gold color.

I would work on the body then the wheels if I were you.

OOOOOO boy......

Hes def a newb. FI is forced induction, and n20 is Nitrous. Go to www.crateenginedepot.com. Most of the cobalt performance parts you will need are on there. Prices are decent too.

I don't like gold wheels.
But if your referring to OEM Subaru wheels I like the bronze on White,Blue and black STI's

lol Well I am a newb to cobalts if that's what you meant , Ive just never heard anyone call it FI before , plus I usually go naturally aspirated since my first car ever that I built was a 98 integra .......

i also dont care about putting SS body parts on my LT because it will be boosted/ turbo'd within a few months so really what I have done is more impressive because I have/will do all the work on it myself. rather than just buy a ss t/c ..... thats my opinion. its more fun to do all the mods yourself.

well, like I said, use that website for performance upgrades. Thats all GM performance stuff, and its really good quality. They sell the ecotec build book on there.

Also, NA is good for those cars if you dont want to do major engine work. Like I said, just run a solid 50 shot on it with a reliable tune, bolt ons, and you will have a quick little car for pretty cheap. Plus you dont have to worry about blowing up the engine.

Also is it a stick??

BTW, welcome to a nicer car. I hate integra's. Theyre one of the biggest riced out cars out there.

no **** , all my integra ever did was break , they are all hype and no game , yeah I had 325 hp with only bolt on parts , but **** that was only if you could get the ******* car to run correctly , yes my cobalt is a stick , I am not a fan of auto's , its like the difference between making your own meal at home and going to mcdonalds , Ide rather make my own. mcdonalds will kill you faster and auto's break faster (depending on the driver).

but badss thanks for the info , that is very solid advice. and the parts on that site have better prices than alot of the places I have been looking

the best place you can go. Not to mention, theyre all designed for the cobalt

325 horses on bolt ons? No power adders? I find that VERY hard to believe. Theres no displacement in that motor, how the hell you gonna pull out 300+ horses?

If you bought that from somone else, and they said it had 300+ horses, Id probly tell them theyre full of sh&t.

eh you should read the march issue of 2004's super street , theres an article in there and it explains allmost what I did , its acctually pretty easy to get 300+ from a b18c1 if you rebuild it right and know what your doing.
