impulse's new project (gonna be a doozy)
of course i couldn't stay away from doing this because it's what im passionate about. i did some more fabricating and brainstorming. so, im using the stock headlamp bulbs and also the connector etc. for the bulb. i am making my own custom harnes out of a extra pair of cobalt harnesses. so i will be disabling the low beams on the stock 9007 and will obviously be using the OEM BMW projectors with HIDs in them for the lows. i quickly attached the 9007 bulb holder to the depo projector with some epoxy for now. i will be truly bonding them later on.

i have a plan for everything else that is needed. i will either be doing a few leds along the top corner for the turn signals or one led bulb with multiple leds. im not sure yet. we'll see after i figure out how much room i have. and below is a quick mockup of how a real dual projector retrofit will look like. keep in mind i just stuck it in lol. it will have a bezel etc.

dude that is ****** awesome, I may have to trade the cf idea away for a set of those.
btw when the hell you coming down here to get all your **** installed. It's all sitting in my garage waiting to go.

dude no way on the retrofits lol. too much work. maybe stock headlight retrofit but not fully custom lol. im just waiting for some **** to sell etc. and get straight with a few things and then i should be good to go soon. im def gonna try and make it out to rubys soon tho.
thanks man. yeah im looking forward to finallyl finishing. she'll never be fully finished tho lol. u know me.
looks sick, can't wait to see what kind of bezel you create to integrate it all in... I am very interested. Goodluck, and Have fun!
(though maybe bring the inner Projector a few inches forward? I dunno, just a thought)

im not sure which route im gonna go with yet but i'll figure it out tomorrow.
yeah i was thinking the same thing already. i can't right now because im using part of the bezel that i took from the stock BMW headlights. im gonna have to chop it up and seperate the two in order to do so. like the below shitty pic lol.

Very cool, though I honestly don't think including a normal style bulb turn signal would be that hard. I mean i know you strapped for space, but if you put it a little behind and to the outside of the normal lights, it would show around them... ehh lemmie see if I can make a rough sketch of what I mean...
I know this is Pathetically rough... but i don't have photoshop right now soo.....

see what I mean? (i know the layout wouldn't be exactly like this, but a standard bulb (or silverstar) would be much easier to replace if it goes out than the LED's would. I mean, sure led's arent that hard... but still, when doing a retrofit this comlex, sometimes a bit of added simplicity is gold.

ok just a minor update. i seperated the bezel so i could adjust the projectors the way i wanted to . i mocked up a quick little thing in order to see how they were gonna look. it's all taken apart now though. im gonna make some figerglass mounting plates in order to mount the projectors and be able to adjust them properly. im using bits and pieces from the donor headlights. like the rubber stopper and ring for the install to make everything nice and tight. after the install plates are made and fitted with the projectors aimed and installed, i will finish the closing up of the back of the headlights. after i will make a fiber glass bezel to make it all flow and look stock. i know im gonna run into some problems but im like a magician, i got tons of tricks up my sleeves lol. plus with the added info from silver if for some reason i can't bond to the stock headlight i can use that 3m ****. here's a pic of the projectors separated and in a mocked up position. this is how they will be orientated. obviously it's not permanent atm i have to adjust them etc. the gasket on the far right isn't out that far. that's in flipped inside out so i could attach the black ring to the dowels.

Looks like your off to good start man ....curious to see your methods and compare to how I did it , maybe I can learn sumthing here from you . Not many other people have the sack to hack off 3/4 of the headlight housing and start over
hahah thanks bro. yeah im looking forward to it. i think tomorrow i'll work some more on it. im gonna make some nice thick mounting plates. im gonna attached the mounting rings ( grey will be hacked off from the rest of that **** which was just there to help support the other black ring) to the mounting placts then drill out the hole with flush router bit. besides the plates in the back with the rings there will be plates up front where the projector housing meets the other have of the lens holder. i'll use bolts etc to do the fine tuning for aiming. it's funny how much research you have to do just for the bulbs etc lol. i couldn't figure out which bulb the OEM BMW hella took by the back of the projectors. i looked it up and it says H7. the funny thing is for some reason (through research) the BMW OEM head lights buls are H7 for the actual socket is 9006. so they use an H7 bulb with the adapter for the 9006 socket which makes absolutely no sense? lol. oh and i think i figured out the new BMW halos you were talking about. picture two cones one on top of the other. the first cone empty end facing u has the headlight bulb and the second cone has the halo bulb. so you can't see the actual halo bulb yet the light reflects all around the halo made from two cones.
