Hi folks -

I put on an aftermarket billet grille on my SS/SC to try to keep the crap from hitting the condensor coil and rad etc.

I like the grille- very high quality - could have been better if the mounts were relocated outboard of the upper bumper mount tabs, but otherwise, very good piece.

I bought it from autoanything.com, it was $106 delivered....

I know its pricey, considering the silver one is about half that price....

You have to ask for the black one specifically - I will post the part number in here when I get home.

Carriage Works does some great work. I live about 5 minutes from their shop. I didnt know they did anything for cars though. They mostly do trucks and motorcylces.

The part number is #42493.

MadFish - I just called them on the phone and talked with a gentleman who was very patient and told me that they did carry a black powder coated grille for the Cobalt.

I had found out they make car grilles when I found the silver billet lower grille on Crutchfield.com.

Carriage Works does not sell directly to the public, so I used Autoanything.com and they ordered it from cariage works, and they offer free shipping.

I knew they didnt sell to the public. I went to a metal fabrication seminar there a few years ago.

Im going to look in to that grill. I think it'ld look good on my car.

Yes - it's in my garage.

The lift was just over $1900 delivered to a local freight forwarder.

I picked it up with my pickup, and used a "cherry picker" engine hoist to install it.

No permit was required where I live, it is not a business.

The lift specified 4" of 3000psi concrete - mine is more like 5 or 6 inches thick where the lift is due to the slope to the drain.

It sure comes in handy, and makes it much easier to keep wheels and undercarriage clean.

I'll bet it's a cool place. The workmanship was nice on the grille - I am happy with it.

It was pointed out to me that cobaltadditction.com sells a grille (after I had ordered this one...) that comes in aluminum finish, that could be painted black. I think that grille is about half the price of the CW one - just thought I would mention that...

BTW - the company that made my lift was AutoLifters - they were in KC. I think some of the employees are trying to get the business going again after it went bankrupt trying to compete against foreign competition.

Autolifters? Cant say I've heard of them. But, I dont have a lift or a place to put one. I want one. But, thats something that wont happen just yet.

I know mostly all the custom and classic parts places in the KC metro area and people that can get parts from them for me. So, that makes it a lot easier. Its nice when you have family friends that work for some of the companys and do Custom Street Rods and such.

Your SS/SC looks awesome with the lower grille, what's even more awesome is the install write up. You need to install some lowering springs on your SS/SC and follow it up with a great install write up, I'd bet if a company like Eibach read your grille install write up they would give you a set of lowering springs if you mentioned you used there springs. Give it some thought, the guys/gals here would appreicate it. BTW, www.backyardbuddy.com four post lift here, it sure beats laying on the ground ( did that enough when I was young ).

Motorcycles? yea, a little.....

I saw that autoanything has the eibach pros for $229 delivered.

I'll be taking a long motorcycle trip starting next Friday evening - leaving the Peoria illinois area (midway beteween chicago and St Louis) and heading north, into Canada, turn left on Canada 1, head to Vancouver, turn left and follow the coast to California, then turn left and head to red bluff.

I'll party hearty for two days, then back through Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota etc......7200miles in 12 days.

I'll look for the eibachs in the meantime....
