Exclamation Info On My Cobalt LS Coupe 2006

Hello, I'm new to this site and i think its a great site supporting our sports car. I have several questions and the first one is, I went to go get my tints done professionally at this shop where they do tints for benz and beamers and all type of fancy cars. When i told him i wanted the tints he told me that the front window and the back window will have minor problems first of all the front won't be able to done because of that fact that all modern cars come with heat resistant window shading and that if they put the film on top of that the window shading will little by little eat the film up so that was no good. Then he told me that the back the same thing he told me that he would be the film on the back of the car up to where the windows car shading stops. He also told me that the reason why other cobalts would probably have full tints is because they come already from factory so the tinting is done with the window itself so its a totally different story. Now i have a friend of mines that knows pretty much about cars and told me thats not true and that he didn't know **** and that i shouldn't have done it with him and that its possible regardless what the window shading is for.

NOW CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME GOOD PIECE OF ADVICE
is the guy from the tint shop right or just didn't know ?

THE WINDOWS SHADING is the little dotted lines that reduce heat on the back and the front of the car.

Welcome to the site.

There has been a number of posts concerning you issue already. Please always a try a search first before creating a new thread. To answer your questions;

There is no factory tinted glass on any Cobalts. GM has done that to some cars, and it would be nice, but they haven't done it with Cobalts. Every Cobalt has the same glass.

The dot matrix patterns along the top edge of the front and rear windows is not a problem for tinting. A good shop using good film materials can tint right over that. As I said, there was a thread about this before where some shops would do it and others would not. I have mine tinted right over the dots and the effect is a small amount of trapped air in the area.
