I just received mine and i was wondering if the double sided stickers are really doing the job or if i'll need something else to do a proper install ??

Thanks

I installed mine with just the double-sided tape. They seem to stick really good. The only thing I regret, is not doing a couple test placements before I took the plastic backing off the adhesive...other than that you will be quite pleased with them i assure you.

Apologize to bring an old thread back.

I just installed these AVS covers the other night; and it looks horrid when you turn the lights on. The double sided tape shows right through; and the fitment is a bit tacky...

During the day they looks great though...
Any suggestions guys?

Paint them black or get rid of them and use NiteShades. I like NiteShades better but that's just me.

A soon as I got them I put new tape on them and actually made the tape look like a circle instead of the ghetto zig-zag they had going on and you can't even tell they weren't supposed to be like that.

Ok guys.... here is the secret. Remove the double sided tape and use a silicon sealant like you do with headlights. I used liquid nails. It is completely clear and will still give you the smoked look (as opposed to black) and does not obstruct light output. Not to mention, there is NO WAY that stuff is coming off regardless of weather

Only problem with this is that some people may want to take them off and if they use the silicone they probably wont be coming off, if there is a way to take it off after putting the silicone on I might do this.
