Installing Fogs on LT cobalt (not originally there)
I am looking for a way to install fogs on my 2006 Cobalt LT. It has the straight up plastic trim piece over the area where the fogs usually would be. I swear I see a cavity in there where fog lamps could be installed (I feel like all cobalt bumpers are standardized) but i wanted to see if anyone has tried this before I spend money.
This is how it looks (not actually mine... mine's better :P)
This is how I want it to look...
I guess I wonder about wiring harnesses and where I could get an OE fog lamp button. Mounting it would be a cinche I think, just wiring it might be trouble.
Ideas?

Thanks.
I wonder though, if the wiring is already there as part of a standard harness... I guess I'll buy the parts and start opening things up. Can't hurt to look.

I'll let you know, I just ordered up a bunch of parts to do this myself. I ordered a fog light kit that seems to come with pretty much everything I needed besides the HID kit and the bumper cover things.
I ordered the Kit for about $100, the HID kit for about $45 and the bumper covers for $40 so it's not a cheap project by any means.
I ordered this kit if you where wondering.

You should check for tabs before you buy anything. Just because you have the bumper with inserts doesn't mean you can install fogs.

I was talking to someone about doing it, they didn't have the tabs and they made it happen with some sort of adhesive compound. I might be able to find his name somewhere.
- If you have the stock wiring you wouldn't realy have to wire much. Just find a stock switch ( or your own ) relay and to the actual fogs.

I didn't think about clips or brackets needed. I figured as long as the cavity was there you would be able to screw them in to place.
RockAuto.com has alot of stuff but I don't see anything about mounting brackets for the fogs. They sell the inserts and fog lamp assy and that appears to be it.
Wonder if i could find something at a junk yard or something...

never done this myself, but i doubt that using the stock wiring harness will work. as afar as i know, the factory installed fogs run through the bcm(because when you turn on your fogs, your all your other lights {minus the headlights} will turn on with them)...not just from the switch to the lights.
but running a few wires for little things like that are easy as $hit.
