Installing / re-installing emblems

Ok...

So, all of you that have either moved your emblems or added ones on...

If the adhesive backing was either bad, or not there at all, what are you all using that works but still is "un-doable" just like a factory issed emblem??

I'm thinking of doing some emblem enhancement on the car this winter, and want to find a good way to do this. The emblems I'll be using do not come with any adhesive on them.

Also, this will involve me relocating a few emblems on the car as well, so I'd need to find something that would work on the existing ones. I don't want to superglue, or anything else that's "permanent". Just want to be able to remove them just like the facotry ones.

Thanks!

I know 3M makes an emblem and trim adhesive. Works pretty good. Dont know about if you ever want to take it off again. Its kind of a black gooey stuff. You can find it at walmart for like 4 bucks...

Thanks!

Have to look into it.

Will be an ongoing winter project, so I can experiment.

I put the cobalt ls badge back on (made it SLOBALT) and I just took all the old adhesive off and used the 3M stuff and they are holding very well.

Make sure it's the 3M molding double sided tape... the one auto store sold me that roll and it turned out to be regular double sided tape... like poster tape. Now my rear (nicely painted) bowtie is somewhere on the PA Turnpike.

hey i worked at a performance /detail shop and we use to do this for people when you do it make sure you remove all existing 3m from old emblems and when you put your new ones on clean it with an alchol wipe then wipe with a dry cloth and dont wait to put it on any left over alchol will evaporate if you wait verry small amount of dust can get in if dust gets in i garinty it will come off in time remember clean it with alchol right before you stick it on if done right it will be verry hard to remove
