Interest in Black Housing Headlights??

Hey everyone,

I was speaking with wikkymaster about his black housing headlights for the Cobalt Coupe, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing this.

We were going to be working together and selling these for about $130.00 SHIPPED. However, the downside is that you'll need to send us your headlights as a core AND the $130. We'll then send you your headlights which will be "blackened." Problem with this is you won't have your headlights, and you won't be driving...so you probably won't want to do this unless you've got another daily driver.

Here's a look at the headlights:

Anyways, I'm just posting to see if you guys would be interested in doing this before I waste my time and apply for a vendorship!

Thanks everyone. All feedback is welcome

yeah, i'm totally interested. BUT, i don't know about having to send my own headlights and it still costing $130. i mean, i can see myself paying that much and getting a new set of headlights. anyway, i do like the look i just can't NOT be driving until i get my headlights back. plus, is there anyway you can get rid of the damn orange/amber driving lights?

i can get rid of the big circle one like on mine but not the small orange reflector, theres nothing to replace it with, and basically you send in your lights, we will already have someone elses cores done and we send those right to you so theres minimal wait time, at least i think thats how it would work

maybe post a pic of them, as long as the clear sheild doesnt cover parts of the housing other than just the plastic lens, i will be able to get them apart and paint them

i was gonna do this, but not having headlights is a problem for people, and new headlights are $200 a set

for the amber marker, you can put in a clear bulb, and use niteshadez to spray the orange part of the lens
the darker it is, the less you will see it

I know this might sound like some coinage but just buy a new set of head lamp assemblys and send them to him, if you like the finished product just install them, otherwise your just out some $$. If they get screwed up somehow you still have your stock ones.

Yep, they're pricey, and we can't always guarantee that ebay will have them available! The dealers will have them in stock, but I dont want to sell headlights for $600

if i was sending you my headlights... i'd want my headlights back. ya know? also, 130 bucks sounds a bit high to put the lights in an oven and paint them

yea i was wrong it would be your lights, it takes me like two days to do them only because i work and you have to bake them, then paint them (couple coats, 30 minutes after each coat wait time, then takes at least 30 minutes to an hour EACH for me to clear out the old sealant, then put in new sealant about 30 minutes EACH, then they have to dry overnight...so quite a bit of labor involved...but ive got it down pretty good now im good at getting them open and sealed up right. dont forget the sealant and paint is about 20 bucks itself, then shipping is probably 15-20

Anyone could do it themselves for 10 bucks...... Buy primer, spray paint, and sand paper.

But Ummm...... 130 dollars?????

130 dollars would be reasonable if you painted them the color of the car with the actual paint coded paint. Come on..

i dont know id be kinda nervous doin those ive only spray painted them before..... we only wanted to see if anyone was interested i know there are people that will do it themselves and critice this deal, but im sure there are others that would rather pay to have it done and not have to deal with all the labor themselves

$130 isnt bad considering the amount of work this takes. I did it, and for both headlights (with some other things to do) it took me from 10pm friday to 3 pm sunday to get it done, working on and off.

While it would be better to work out a way to just get all new lights, its not a bad deal
