Nice work i've always wanted to see a carbon dashboard. and are those other carbon pieces ur doing those headlight covers for behind the headlights? i think ur the guy that made those...?
Im in Durham region Ontario.
i am using Carbon Fiber and a dual weave red/black carbon kevlar hybrid.
this project is going to take a lot of time. I dont get to do it everyday all day sadly.
hmm sun glare. I am tinting the top and bottom of my windshield so i am hoping that will reduce the effect. as well a nicely cleaned and armor all'd dash is pretty dang shiney on its own. so I dont think it would be that much worse

Maybe just gloss clear the dash with a rattle can first and go for a ride with the dash pad sitting in the front of a buddies car. If you get too much glare use a satin or matte clear on everything instead of a gloss.

now when you cover a piece do you trim excess right away or do you lay down resin first then trim excess?
such as extras taped off in green, and the hole for the mounting screw above

what I do is prep the surface. then I lay down a medium to thick layer of tinted black resin.
I let it cure for about 2 hours.
Then i lay the Carbon fiber over top of it.
letting it cure or hit stage B of its curing cycle allows the resin to be very tacky. Doing it this way helps the CF contour to the surface and stay where I put it.
I also put resin on the back side where ever I will wrap around edges.
I let this cure for another hour or so making sure nothing is lifting.
Once that is done. I start with the clear resin over top of this. 3-4 good coats of that and let it fully cure.
then I cut away the access CF.
if you cut the CF before it cures then you have a very high chance that the fibers will pull away and mess the weave up.
This is why a Dremmel is my most used tool
cut off discs and sanding wheels make short work of a single layer of cured CF.
the Green tape is there for cutting the pieces out. thin Green tape and cut the material you need. this will stop the cut ends from pulling apart and messing the weave up

the door pod for speakers oh hey urban i completely forgot my word of advice did you check to make sure the speakers dont touch anything with the door closed. mine doesnt but is really the limit of what it could be any further and it would be touching the seat.... other people suck at life and if i could get them further in i totally would
